Happy JULY! Can you believe half of the year is over? Man, this year is flying by and fourth of July is almost here! I hope you are treating yourself to a summer vacation for the holiday. Who doesn’t enjoy a 4-day weekend? I always love this little break in the middle of summer since it’s so refreshing. Hopefully y’all saw my Friday blog post in time to put together your best Fourth of July outfit. The look I’m wearing in today’s post is another great option too. Plus, I’m letting you know my thoughts on Spider-Man: Far From Home. Should you see it?
Before we dive into today’s fashion topic, I have just returned from Boston where I was attending TravelCon. This is a Travel Conference for bloggers, influencers and anyone wanting to grow their travel content. I got to hear some amazing speakers and feel empowered to bring you more travel content so stay tuned! Also, while I was there, the press screening for Spider-Man: Far From Home happened so I sent P.J. to the event. Click here to see the trailer. He gives it a thumbs up and highly recommends it. If you don’t know, this movie picks up immediately where Avengers: Endgame left off (spoiler alert). Spider-Man: Far From Home opens in theaters tomorrow on July 2. Go see it on the big screen – that’s where all Marvel movies should be seen! Now to fashion…
I pulled together this American style outfit completely from Talbots, one of my favorites. The linen v-neck sweater is super lightweight and definitely shows off my patriotic spirit well. I styled it slightly tucked into these white wide-leg denim crops. They’re high waisted and so on-trend. I will be wearing these all summer long for sure. Using my “two-finger tuck” makes them look more polished and flattering. That’s one of my favorite tricks! Then my blue Keds sneakers and blue woven crossbody purse brought the whole look together. Sneakers are a must-have for this holiday. And my photographer Audrie actually loved my corn husk bag so much that I went ahead and gave it to her. I love to pass along some of my great finds to friends.
I love the Fourth of July because I get to sport my best American style. There’s always a local parade in my neighborhood, so I typically go for something comfortable and casual to wear in the hot morning sun. We’re also close enough to see fireworks at one of the nearby country clubs. My best suggestion for dressing on the Fourth is to not wear anything too cheesy. It can be easy to go a little overboard on this day with stars, stripes, red, white, and blue galore! Instead try incorporating one of these Holiday favorites into your look. A simple striped tee with white shorts or a cute printed sundress is understated and versatile but still on theme. Plus, you can wear these pieces all summer long instead of just on the Fourth. Even a pair of star motif earrings are classy but reflect your American style in a trendy way.
What are y’all going to wear for the Fourth of July? I’d love to see what you put together!
xoxo – Tanya

I ordered my Independence Day look from Talbots too — your blog is how I decided to try them again and I just love them! Have a great holiday, Tanya!
I’m in France this week will celebrate the 4th in either Vannes off the Brittany coast or more inland near Versailles. Back to Seattle July 8
You look so American. Love your top. My 4th will be lazy. We also have a neighborhood parade and I live on the border of Addison so I can see the fireworks from my house. My outfit is easy this year – I was in the Dollar Tree and saw some amazing long 4th of July scarfs and t bought one to pull back my hair. Crazy as it sounds, these scarfs are great for $1.00! Done.
I thought for a second the red in the back was a British post phone box lol. Really enjoyed reading this post, you have an amazing style you have definitely given me some style ideas, thank you
