Leather vs. faux leather: which team are you on? In my opinion, I don’t think you have to choose. I have both in my wardrobe and love them both. Let’s dive deeper into the difference between the two and look at my favorite leather and faux leather pants. Can you tell the difference?

Leather vs. Faux Leather

Leather is a tried and true material. We have it in our cars, our furniture, our shoes and even our clothes. This is because leather holds up nicely for years. It is durable and never goes out of style. I definitely believe that leather pants are a wardrobe staple. They are a classic piece that will stand the test of time. My favorite leather pants right now are these leather wide leg pants. They make your legs look so long and are so chic. The pants come in three color choices. Fit is true to size. In terms of care, I always take mine to the dry cleaners. Sometimes you can hand wash leather pieces in warm water, but always check the tag beforehand. Leather softens overtime, so just like a fine wine it ages well. This makes leather pieces worth the investment.

Faux leather is a great alternative to the real deal. It has the same look as leather, but at a lower price point. You can find pants, tops, jackets, dresses, and more all in faux leather. It is definitely on trend and is here to stay. One pair of pants I love are these faux leather split hem pants (size M). The split hem is a stylish hem line that is flattering and a fun way to show off your favorite shoes. Faux leather clothing is also easy to wash. For my faux leather pants, I turn them inside out and machine wash on a gentle cycle. You can also hand wash them. Note: never put faux leather in the dryer! The plastic in the material will melt. Simply lay flat to dry. Faux leather is also really easy to steam and iron. Just turn the garment inside out, steam, and you have a wrinkle-free piece.

Which team are you on? How about both?  xoxo – Tanya
