Since Spring is upon us, I thought I’d give y’all some fashion inspiration for the season. I styled this look from JC Penney entirely under $100! Crazy, right? Layered looks in fun colors are always perfect to transition into Spring, so I chose this cute color combo to brighten things up. Pink and blue are great colors to start working into your daily looks, as well as colors like marigold yellow – the big color trend that I talked about in my previous post here. Also, this cable knit sweater comes in 15 colors so surely you can find one that you love!
Listen, I’m all about luxury and high-end looks and most of the time I show you things at a higher price point. But a fashionable look does not have to be expensive. To prove this point, I challenged myself to style a spring outfit that was under $100 total. If you know me well, you know that this is a very typical, casual look that I wear often. So I decided to stick with styling a look that I would wear often.
I just love a cable knit sweater layered over a button-up, as it’s crisp and clean. Usually, I like to let the cuffs pop out at the sleeve, but you could also cuff them over the sweater too. If it gets a bit warm, just take off the sweater and tie it around your neck! Voila! A totally effortless look and very European.
I paired it with these cropped ankle jeans, which are very versatile and flattering to wear with everything from booties to sneakers to flats… like these metallic flats for a trendy touch. Metallic tones are huge for Spring, so this is an easy way to subtly incorporate it into your wardrobe. They’re the perfect shoes to wear to a luncheon or dressed down on the weekend. I like this silver loafer too and check out this silver ballet flat. You’ll of course need some sunnies for the season, so I love a classic pair of aviators to top off my outfit. Mine are from Quay (I wear them all the time), but you can also try these aviator sunglasses to keep the outfit under $100.
I hope this gets you ready for spring weather, because I sure am ready for it! Aren’t you? But you know how tricky spring can be, especially here in the south. One day it’s 70 degrees and then next day it will be below 30 degrees with a chance of snow. That’s why I love a good cable knit sweater because it’s so versatile!
