A little black dress is always great to have for events, but also for everyday wear too. So when I recently spotted this black belted sheath (similar), I had to get it! I knew it would be perfect for luncheons or daytime events. I wrote a post a little over a month ago about 10 black dresses for Spring that you can read here, but buying this dress (similar) also got me thinking about how to wear an LBD during the daytime this Summer!
Apologies up front about this exact dress I have on in today’s post. The brand sent this to me directly and assured me it would be in stores by now. Unfortunately, it’s not out yet. I will be sure to link it for you the minute it is. For now I have linked you to similar choices and given you lots of options below. Let’s continue on with discussion about black dresses…
Contrary to what many may think, black is not too dressy for the daytime. And it is definitely not boring! So when shopping for a daytime dress, I usually opt for a classic but modern sheath like this one. A classy black sheath will never go out of style! Just update it with a belt, statement necklace, or fun heels. You can also keep it chic by going with a monochromatic look like I did here with my black bag and black heels. As you may know, I usually like to cover my knees when wearing dresses. But if you want something shorter, this one is a great option very similar to mine.
If you are looking for a dress that is a little more casual and versatile for wearing on the daily to work or for lunch with friends, opt for a feminine wrap dress, belted midi dress or shirtdress. You really cannot go wrong with any of these! For Summertime, a light and airy midi dress such as this is very on-trend and easy! I also featured my breezy black maxi in this past post and have just LOVED wearing it during the warm weather. It’s been a great go-to that I can dress up and down. My advice is to dress any of these little black dresses down with espadrilles or sneakers!
Do you have a go-to black dress for Summer days? It’s probably time to find a new one! See more great daytime LBD options below.
