Hello and Happy Thursday peeps! If there is one thing I can never have too many of, it’s a beautiful shirt dress. I absolutely love this one from Lafayette 148. And can we just take a minute to admire this gorgeous Officina del Poggio Picnic Safari Jute bag I just got? This effortless style makes me feel very ‘Out of Africa’. Do you think Robert Redford will be washing my hair?
Thank you so much for all of your kind comments, messages and Instagram comments about my new assistant Ramsey. I loved shooting with her and featuring our coffee meeting on the blog and social media yesterday. She is such a gem and now I am wondering what in the world took me so long to hire a permanent assistant. She makes my life easier!
A little bit about this bag. I met the designer, Allison Hoeltzel Savini several years ago when I hosted a luncheon event for her in Dallas. We became friends and still stay in touch even though she lives in Bologna, Italy. The Italian handbag designer founded Officina del Poggio in 2014 and has honed her skills by creating the most beautiful classic utilitarian bags. The exciting news is ODP just got picked up by Barney’s! I feel a girls trip to Italy is definitely on the horizon. I’m so proud of Allison and her success!
You already know I have a love of Lafayette 148 as I have featured them on the blog here, here and here. The brand is designed for women, by women. This Varuni short-sleeved shirt dress is made of cotton and comes with a self tie. I took it off and added this woven linen wrap belt to tie in to the shoes and bag. Lafayette 148 also makes this fun tote bag that would also work for this look. There’s just an ease to this dress yet I feel very pulled together. I’m wearing size medium and I find the dress fits true to size. The leather sienna slippers are also Lafayette 148 and I have them in white too. I’ll be wearing these with jeans and white denim all summer long.
Lafayette 148 is currently celebrating #unordinaryWomen by donating $10 to She’s The First, a non-profit organization that supports girls’ education around the world for every Instagram post they see with the #. So be sure to check out my Instagram today and comment on the picture I post with this hashtag so that we can help them out.
Thank you for reading the blog, following me on social media and just being here. YOU make me happy!
xoxo – Tanya
P.S. These are the sunglasses that Meghan Markle made famous. I am linking them but they are always SOLD OUT. Go ahead and add your name to the ‘wish list‘ on the retailers site and you will get them. That’s how I got mine. And they are only $70 so you will want them!
