Hey y’all! The temperatures are finally dropping and pumpkin products are filling the stores, which only means one thing: it’s FALL. With a new season comes new fashion, so today I want to look at 10 fall trends that I’m excited for this season. Some of them will surprise you! And don’t worry – just because we are out of our 2020 loungewear does not mean these new trends lack comfort. Also, scroll all the way through for a special Tuckernuck Friends & Family SALE ALERT. Hurry, the sale ends today. Let’s go!
10 Fall Trends I’m Falling For
1. Sweater Vests
You read that right: sweater vests! One trend you thought you wouldn’t see again is the sweater vest. You can wear it as is, over a button down shirt or even over another lightweight sweater. Plaid is another popular pattern this season, which is why I just bought this sweater vest. I will do a follow up post on how I styled it. Also, check out this casual sweater vest look from last week.
2. Moto Jacket 2.0
The moto jacket has been a fall staple over the past few years, so I am excited that it is getting a fun update. You will find moto jackets with puffed sleeves, cropped, as trench coats and even blazers. The introduction of leather in the fall is always my favorite.
3. Bright Colors
Don’t get rid of those bright summer clothes just yet! Saturated, bright colors are a major trend this fall. Try incorporating some popular colors this fall such as cobalt blue, emerald green, sunny yellow, or a bold fuchsia.
4. Cable Knits
I love a classic cable knit sweater. They are warm and stylish and come in a variety of styles and colors.
5. Large Handbags
I’m kind of happy that the mini bag is finally making it’s way out. You can hardly fit anything in those bags! This is why I’m so glad that the large handbag is making its debut. And by large, I mean the larger, the better. Now we can fit your life inside your purse, while still being on trend.
The knee high boot and lug sole boot is definitely one of the 10 fall trends that I am falling for. The knee boot of 2021 is sleek and sophisticated. The lug sole boot is another fall must-have. We have seen it on every designer runway, so everyone agrees on this boot trend. The western boot is another popular everyday style that I can totally get behind. I mean, how fun are these fringe knee high western boots??
7. Tailored to a T
The tailored look has been popular for a while, but this year it is on a new level. Business chic has a more masculine look this year. Think tailored coat over a tailored blazer over a tailored vest, worn with tailored pants. Wear this polished look with a chic loafer, pointed toe pump or sneaker.
8. Elevated Shirtdress
You all know I love a good shirtdress, so of course I’m excited about this trend. The elevated shirtdress will definitely be making an appearance in my wardrobe. Think asymmetrical designs, fun patters and puffed sleeves.
While I’m not throwing my skinny jeans out, I am trying to incorporate more straight leg jeans this year. It is a denim trend that is here to stay. They pair well with a sleek pump or ankle boot. The wide leg jean is another popular trend that you may want to try out this season. It gives such a beautiful elongated look which also makes you look taller!
10. Puffed Up
The puffer jacket made a breakthrough last winter and is coming back for the fall. It is not only fashionable, but practical. I love how comfortable and warm the puffer makes you feel. For a piece you can wear now, try this faux leather puffer vest. So chic.
Now listen, you don’t have to embrace all of these fall fashion trends, but maybe try one or two to update your wardrobe. I’ve ordered several of these and will be doing a try-on session on IG stories. I’ll link the looks in my LTK so be sure to check them out.
