I’m going to show you pictures below of my 12 week journey with ALTRENO. I’m working with the makers of ALTRENO to share how this product helped me and how it could help you too. I’ve never had major breakouts, but when they do happen, they are typically hormonal breakouts, especially around my jawline. The kind that are hard to cover up and wreck your appearance, especially on days when you have important events to attend.
I’ve tried lots of products and have always consulted with my dermatologist Lori Stetler, M.D. In fact, she has been my doctor for over 20 years and has treated me for skin conditions throughout various stages of my life. When I heard about this medication, I immediately made an appointment to see her. She agreed that this was a good option for me and wrote me a prescription.
What is ALTRENO? It’s the first and only acne treatment that provides the proven efficacy of tretinoin in a moisturizing lotion. Did you know that nearly four times as many women suffer from adult acne than men? ALTRENO lotion was designed with women in mind, because it can fit seamlessly into our skincare routines. It spreads smoothly and absorbs quickly into the skin. It’s formulated with ingredients such as soluble collagen, glycerin and sodium hyaluronate which are known to hydrate skin. It’s a once a day application that can be used day or night. It comes from the makers of Retin-A so you know it is a high quality product.
Personally, I use it at night as part of my night-time skincare routine. It layers well with other products too. You should minimize sun exposure while using ALTRENO. That’s never an issue for me as I try to keep my face out of the sun as much as possible and always apply SPF 50. While individual results may vary, I found this product to be very effective. Note that it is not an acne spot treatment but a daily application to your entire face. ALTRENO is only available by prescription.
As with any retinoid, possible side effects include irritation, skin dryness, pain, redness and excessive flaking or peeling. Because I already have dry skin, I did have some flaking and peeling while using ALTRENO. When that happened, I simply decreased my daily use and gave my skin a little break. It’s important to continue your daily skincare routine including cleansing and moisturizing. However, don’t use any other retinoid treatments while using ALTRENO.

A small amount goes a long way. You will only need to apply a pea-sized amount of ALTRENO to your entire face. It has a thin consistency and spreads easily.
