There is nothing as lovely as white lace. I just discovered the most amazing, feminine dress line – AG Phillips. The designer, Andrea Phillips, is from Houston but currently lives in London and has just launched her line of exquisite clothing in the U.S. This beautiful dress I have on is her Haley Dress and is a layer of guipure lace combined with luxurious Italian silk for an ultra-feminine, chic look. The fabric imported from Italy and the dress has an invisible zipper in the back. Look at the upclose, detail shot on the sleeve – the lace detail work is to die for. I have paired it with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin heels and a Charlotte Max clutch bag. This look is perfect for any spring luncheon event or Easter Sunday. Be sure to check out her website shop page for all of her beautiful designs.
AG Phillips is currently sold in these locations in the US. In Dallas, you will find her line at Neiman Marcus NorthPark and Tootsies. Lucky you, she will be in Dallas on Monday, March 2 from 2:00 -4:00 PM visiting the Neiman Marcus NorthPark store. Pop in and meet her.
I know it’s cold outside but I just realized that next week is already MARCH. Come on spring! What do you think about this white dress? Leave me a comment and let me know. xoxo- Tanya

About AG Phillips
Andrea Phillips currently lives in London where she launched her collection, AG Phillips earlier this summer. The label, which is eponymous for its ladylike, well-tailored dresses, made it’s U.S. debut at TOOTSIES in Atlanta and in her hometown of Houston, Texas last Fall. Andrea founded AG Phillips when she noticed a distinct void in the womenswear market from both a product and price perspective. Several other factors uniquely came together that led Andrea to develop the AG Phillips ready-to-wear line. After graduating from Vanderbilt University where she majored in Economics, she returned to Houston, her home town to work as an investment banker at one of the large Wall Street firms. While working there she was required to wear a suit on a daily basis, so she began using her weekend wardrobe (when she actually had a weekend, she jokes) to express her own style with feminine dresses, bright colors and unique fabrics. She began to develop her own personal sense of style, which many describe as classic, but more importantly, this is when she first noticed a void in the womenswear market and a possible opportunity. Andrea decided to pursue an MBA at Rice University because of its entrepreneurship program and to develop the business skills necessary to start her own company. While at Rice she wrote her business plan for AG Phillips.
After obtaining her MBA, Andrea and her husband moved to Dubai, which was instrumental in the development of AG Phillips, and it provided an impetus for her to pursue the business full-time. Upon moving abroad, she discovered that many of the brands that she loved back home were significantly more expensive, and they were a few seasons behind the U.S. market. Frustrated with this realization, she began designing her own clothes with high quality European fabric and having them custom-made. Realizing that designing was something that she truly enjoyed, she decided to pursue her passion full-time and to lay the foundation for the launch of her own company. In a city with everything from haute couture to outdoor souks (the Arabic word for marketplace) she was able to find creative inspiration for her brand. Living in the Middle East also allowed her to travel and gain inspiration from all of the places that she visited.
The Launch of AG Phillips
With AG Phillips, Andrea hopes to fill the void in womenswear between ultra-contemporary where neon zippers and cutouts have become ubiquitous and the opposite end of the spectrum where clothing is a bit too matronly, lacks a tailored shape and shies away from vibrant colors. From a price perspective women’s clothing is either a contemporary or a couture price point with few options in between. Through her brand AG Phillips, Andrea wants to provide women with a luxury product that will fit the needs of women who want something a bit more refined than what is currently being offered in contemporary sportswear – something that can be worn season after season. Andrea wants to give women the look and feel of luxury by using designer European fabric, but she also designs it to be versatile and a product that women can relate to and wear for work and on the weekends – She notes,
“It’s all about giving women greater options and more value and AG Phillips does just that.”
