If you are thinking that you have read a blog post about Jordan Estate before, you are correct. Pete and I love this winery and we visited last summer to share our experience of Sonoma and navigating during a pandemic. Fast forward a year. When Jordan Estate and Winery asked us to return to stay in their newly renovated Chateau Suites and to experience some of their wine tasting events, we didn’t hesitate. After all, that is California Dreamin’!
If you are looking for a more detailed wine experience in Sonoma, be sure to read this blog post from our visit last year. It details several wineries, restaurants, shops and things to do in Healdsburg. We absolutely LOVE this part of California. The non-stop flight from DFW to Santa Rosa on American Airlines also makes it easy. You can literally leave on the morning flight and enjoy lunch and wine when you arrive. Healdsburg is a short drive from the airport. In fact, we landed and enjoyed a lovely lunch at Bravas Bar De Tapas before heading out to the winery.
Jordan Estate and Winery only produces two wines – Jordan Russian River Valley Chardonnay and Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Because of this they do not have a traditional Wine Club. Instead, they focus on a Rewards Program that allows its members to attend special events and stay on property. Today, I’m sharing how they have renovated their beautiful Chateau suites and what tastings we did. In case you want to join their Rewards Program so that you can be invited to their special events, click HERE to sign up.
I would be remiss if I didn’t thank the wonderful folks at Jordan Estate for their incredible hospitality. Lisa, Kendall and Alyx have now become friends of ours and we look forward to seeing them every time we visit. One night we ventured into town and met Lisa and her husband for drinks at Spirit Bar and dinner at Guiso Latin Fusion. Everything was delicious and we are happy to report that Healdsburg is thriving! We stayed in town last time and mentioned lots of restaurants and shops. That list and itinerary can be found HERE. Word on the street is that everyone is eagerly awaiting the opening of The Matheson which is set to open in August. This is Dustin Valette’s new farm to table restaurant. We dined at Valette last year so if it is anything like that, it will be spectacular!
The renovated chateau suites
You might remember that I told you about the Jordan Estate Reward Program. It allows you to book a stay in one of the three luxury Chateau suites on property. I detailed this feature last year in this blog post. Good news – all three suites have just completed a beautiful remodel and feature exquisite decor.
You can experience an enchanting winery overnight stay in one of the newly renovated luxurious guest suites at the Jordan Chateau. Jordan’s three suites offer a pampering blend of modern amenities, old-world architectural features and rare antiques from the Louis XIII, XV and XVI periods. Situated on the second story of the chateau, all suites feature French doors and window seats to enjoy beautiful views of Jordan Estate and the winery’s revered barrel rooms. The suites are named and this year we stayed in Chene (number 3). The other suites are named Cepage and Vendage.
Each suite is fitted with a king bed, sitting area, fireplace and wet bar with mini-refrigerator. Complimentary continental breakfast, prepared by the culinary staff, is served in-room with French press coffee or Jordan Estate foraged tea. This was such a delicious way to start our day! Guests also receive courtesy round-trip transportation to and from Healdsburg for dinner. A curated wine dinner at one of the restaurant partners in town may be added for an additional fee.
With the Chateau, the vineyards and the ambiance, you will truly feel like you are in the French countryside when you stay at Jordan Estate!

Jordan Winery Library Tasting
This was the first wine tasting of our trip. We enjoyed a flight of flight of three cabernets as well as two lovely chardonnays during the one hour tasting done in the newly renovated Jordan Winery Library. The Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are paired with the chefs selections of cheeses and appetizers. This tasting is limited to twelve people. This is an excellent way to experience Jordan Winery if you have a limited time. Click HERE for bookings.

Jordan Winery Estate Tour & Tasting
If you have a bit more time, we highly recommend you invest it in this tasting event. This is a three+ hour excursion and it is breathtaking! You check-in and begin in the Bacchus Courtyard with a continental breakfast and a tasting of the Jordan Cuvée by Champagne AR Lenoble, where you’ll be given an overview of Jordan Winery and the iconic chateau.
After breakfast, you will step aboard their Mercedes Sprinter and ride in style through the open spaces and sustainable vineyards of Jordan’s 1,200-acre estate. A stop at the Jordan Winery garden allows you to disembark and enjoy tasting organic vegetables and fruits straight from the garden. Jordan makes its own floral arrangements from the beautiful flowers they grow. And the chef uses all the fruits, vegetables and herbs as well.
You’ll enjoy alfresco wine tastings of Jordan Russian River Valley Chardonnay and Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, along with a library vintage of each. Featured wines will be complemented by an array of food pairing delicacies from our chef, as well as a Jordan Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil tasting. You’ll stop and see the olive trees on property that are used in producing the Jordan Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The final tasting is done in the Vista on the highest point of the 1,200 acres. Click HERE to see the 360 degree view we enjoyed during the final portion of this tour. The Vista is spectacular!
Shout out to our wine guides Aristotle Smith and Christopher Huber for exceptional experiences!

Jordan’s luxury resort neighbor: Montage Healdsburg
Jordan Winery has a new neighbor! The Montage Healdsburg recently opened and we were delighted to take a tour and stay for lunch. If you can’t stay at Jordan Estate, this is a great option!
Nestled among 258 acres of rolling vineyards and oak tree groves, Montage Healdsburg features an 11,500-square-foot spa, a zero-edge resort pool, three signature dining options, including a seasonal poolside restaurant, inspired by the region’s culinary heritage and seamless access to Northern California’s renowned wineries and outdoor experiences. The 130 bungalow-style guest rooms and suites blend contemporary influence with environmentally conscious design. They all boast lots of outdoor space and allow you to be one with nature.
Pete and I stayed and had lunch at Hazel Hill. This signature restaurant highlights locally sourced ingredients and seasonal flavors in a beautiful setting, complete with an interactive expo kitchen, exhibit pantry, al fresco dining area and wine bar. We sat outside enjoying the beautiful Sonoma climate while enjoying wine, appetizers and lunch. Everything was delicious!
The property is gorgeous and can be booked by clicking HERE.

A huge thank you to John Jordan, proprietor of Jordan Estates for his time. I loved interviewing him and you can listen to it by clicking HERE. This is the second time Pete and I met John and we thoroughly enjoyed speaking with him again. In addition to the winery, he is a pilot (flying everything from Piper Cubs to Gulfstream jets), an intelligence officer in the Naval Reserves, a commentator for several major TV networks and an attorney. Additionally, he is fluent in Russian and German.
If you are in Sonoma, I hope you will take the time to check out Jordan Estate. You’ll see why its one of our favorites!

How fabulous! We have visited Jordan before and it is so beautiful (not to mention the fantastic wine!). Their suites are gorgeous! What a fun wine club privilege/benefit!
Betsy-
I’m so glad you have been to Jordan Winery. It’s definitely worth the visit!

Another great visit! Staying at the winery is soooo much better than bouncing from tasting to tasting. So great to wake up and wander through the Cabernet vines in the Chateau Block. Plus one of my favorite Cabernets
Looks amazing! Thank you for sharing all the details.
Monica,
Of course. Glad you enjoyed this post.
Thanks for stopping by.

One more facet to John Jordan’s personality…he is a music video “star”. I love this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19T90ut2JEE&list=PLDJuIzF9A_as6Bkl5zN0jhOfoQ9gOmjys&index=7. Cut and paste this link into your browser to enjoy!!!! There are quite a few of these parody music videos to enjoy. Most of them use the staff of Jordan exclusively in their production.
Pete,
Thanks for posting!

Looks lovely!
Taylor,
It’s a little slice of paradise!
