I have a confession… I’m a snob when it comes to paper. That’s why I’m obsessing over Joy Creative Shop’s stationary on Etsy! My paper set here contains notecards, a notepad, and even adorable little “Love, Tanya” gift tags. Everyone loves personalized products, so what’s better than having your own personalized paper? It’s so fun and special!
I ordered my stationary set from this Dallas-based paper company, whose products you can shop on Etsy. Joy Creative Shop has been making paper goods for the last 20 years, so they know what they’re doing! All products are printed on high quality textured card stock and embellished by hand. It’s the perfect place to purchase something personal for yourself or even friends, as it would be great to give out as gifts to close friends for the holidays. In fact, all my holiday gift stickers and tags come from her Etsy Shop.
I absolutely love the vibrant colors of my stationary, but you can customize it to your own liking. Joy Creative Shop carries everything from notecards to gift tags to notepads to stickers to stamps and more. You can even get a full stationary set similar to mine! By the way, my lovely black dress pictured is from Love Shack Fancy, which you can read more about in my post from earlier this week here. Then my adorable structured pink bag is made by Officina Del Poggio, which is a luxury leather handbag brand available online at Moda Operandi and Goop. I just shot her new spring 2019 handbag and can’t wait to show it to you. I met designer Allison Hoeltzel Savini at an event in Dallas and we’ve been friends ever since! Lastly, my monogrammed phone case is from The Daily Edited, which I raved about in my post last week.
Some other great places for stationary are Minted, which is where I get my thank you notes. See more options from them below. Also, Mixbook makes a great gift for anyone, especially upcoming graduates! I used Mixbook to make Taylor and Jeff’s wedding guest book that I revealed in my previous blog post here. No matter what kind of paper you decide to use, it’s the intent and thought behind your notes that really matters. So I wanted to give you some tips on writing etiquette!
5 Tips on Thank You Notes
- Always use an ink pen. I personally love simple black ink pens.
- Try to write thank you notes immediately after receiving a gift (in 1-2 weeks or 1 month max).
- Write with specific detail and from the heart to really show your appreciation to someone.
- Be short and concise…about 4-5 sentences is perfect. Of course, all my notes end with xoxo.
- Keep it neat! If you mess up, it’s better to re-write it than to send a carelessly written letter.
It’s not rocket science but good manners do matter. Don’t you feel special when you receive a hand written note? I do!
xoxo – Tanya
P.S. All Surprise Beauty Box winners receive a hand written note on my tanyafoster.com stationary. 🙂

I still have your card that said Hello Darling at the top — too cute!
I love cute note cards and I am a BIG believer in thank you notes!
I have been looking for cute gift tags for awhile…this post is so helpful! And, yes, handwriting is so important, but somewhat of a lost art.
I love paper too! Going to get some of those cute gift tags!
As a writer and designer, I’ve always appreciated gorgeous stationery. I’m a fan of beautiful gift wrap too. And I agree with you, I always use a simple, fine-point black pen. Thanks for the tips!
I love note cards and stationery – It’s something I picked up from my Mom and Grandma. It’s also something I passed on to my boys growing up. I usually use blue ink – it’s mainly a legal practice – because Xerox (and other copying machines) only had black ink at one time and you could not tell the difference between the original document from a copied one – such as original wills and etc. I’m also a Notary and now that we have colored copies, you can tell if something is tampered. Thanks for the recommendation. I’m always on the lookout for new vendors and especially from Dallas.
