In the race to beat the age clock, a girls gotta do what works! About a month ago I had Ultherapy done with Dr. Matthew White at his office in New York City and I am loving the early results. Today, I am going to give you all the details about the procedure as well as show you pictures of my visit. That’s not all – you get to see a video too. Find out why people from all over the world seek out this amazing doctor!
Now you might wonder why I would fly to NYC to see a plastic surgeon and have Ultherapy and my consultation done there. It’s simple, really – his credentials. He is a double board-certified plastic surgeon whose knowledge of facial anatomy is unparalleled. His progressive approach to rejuvenating the face is on the cutting-edge of aesthetic medicine, redefining the critical role of underling fascia and ligament for optimal jawline definition. His comprehensive training and unique understanding of facial aging led him to be chosen as a key researcher behind the development of Ulthera (an FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure for skin tightening) while at Massachusetts General Hospital. So I figured if you are going to investigate Ultherapy, why not go to the guy known for perfecting it!
I met with Dr. Whitein early September for my consultation and Ultherapy procedure. The above pictures and video below show him analyzing my face making sure that I was a good candidate. Ultherapy uses ultrasound to tighten the skin on the face, neck and chin area. The best results are seen up to six months post procedure and I am only one month out. However, I can tell you that I am already noticing a difference in my jaw line. It’s definitely more defined. Guess what? Ultherapy has just been FDA-cleared to reduce lines and wrinkles on the decollete area (chest). I most certainly will be investigating that! The procedure is painless and only takes about an hour. They will apply numbing cream to ease any discomfort and you will have absolutely no down time. In fact, I attended a NYFW fashion show later that afternoon after I applied all my make-up. In fact, I went to dinner and was out late that evening too.
During my consultation, I had a chance to chat with Dr. White and get details about The Golden Angle Lift, a face lift procedure he is well-known for. I have often said that I know a face lift is in my future so I wanted to be sure to get the details about what his approach is. He focuses on the angular jawline working with his patients bone structure to create a more chiseled look, thereby creating a face that appears more slim and defined. Most importantly, Dr. White addresses the SMAS layer (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) which is the connective tissue that lays the foundation for the framework of the entire face and jawline. Within the SMAS layer, three facial ligaments work together to create animation and movement in the face – the arc of the cheek, below the jawline and the front of the chin. The Golden Angle Lift releases and tightens to restore a highly sculpted, more youthful, proportionate jawline that enhances the face creating a refreshed look.
Dr. White shared pictures of patients before and after and I was amazed at the subtle, yet striking differences! Everyone looked younger, fresher, happier. It’s no wonder that Dr. White has an international following. Clients fly in from all over the world to work with him. Perhaps its his surgical training at Harvard Medial School, his Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center as well as his Clinical Research Fellowship in Laser Medicine and Surgery at the prestigious Wellman Laboratories of Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition, I was also impressed that he only focuses on the face and neck. If you want any other type of plastic surgery, you will have to go elsewhere. Talk about a specialty!
I can’t wait to see my Ultherapy results when the procedure is in full effect. Most patients only need one treatment. I figure if Christie Brinkley (63) does it, I can too. Be sure to watch the video to see my interview with Dr. Matthew White, my Ultherapy consultation and procedure as well as a detailed description of The Golden Angle Lift (with before and after pictures). Thank you to Dr. Matthew White for collaborating with me on Ultherapy. All opinions are my own.
Hi Tanya – question….After the PRP Facelift did you feel you didn’t get the exact results you wanted and then decided on Ultherapy or do they go hand in hand? I’m trying to decide what to do…I’ve looked at the thread lift, PRP Facelift (Dr. Flora Kim for all of these, btw) or go to a plastic surgeon for a consult on all of these…so much data out there. Just wondering what you’d do…I’m 46 but I know a facelift is in my future.
