Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a good week. Do you all have any plans for the Fourth of July weekend or are you staying home? Pete and I are staying at home this year since our usual Kaboomtown fireworks show has been moved to a live simulcast. It will definitely be a different experience. Today I have a fun surprise for you. I was at dinner with my neighbors last week, and I had a conversation with their six year old daughter, Elle (check out our picture). Y’all, this precious child has my whole heart! We thought it would be a fun idea to have her join me on the blog today. After all, life through the eyes of a six year old is so refreshing. I can’t wait to introduce you adorable Elle!
I thought it would be fun to interview her and call it ‘Conversations with Elle’. That way if she wants to appear more often, this can become a series. Elle and I decided to wear our favorite summer dresses for our convo. My white dress is sold out, but you will love this white dress (comes in black and a fun pink print too). Check out all the best white summer dresses that we recently rounded up here. I love dressing it up with these statement earrings. I also added some Julie Vos chunky bracelets as well as some from Allie+Bess (get 10% OFF with code: TANYA10). Elle is wearing this dress in a size 5T with these white sandals. The sandals have a cute buckle, but they also velcro. What a genius shoe design for kids! Don’t forget her adorable pink monogrammed Barrington tote bag that I gifted her for her birthday. We are all dressed up and sat poolside for our little chat.
We have become good friends with her parents and love this entire family. They gave full permission for this shoot and blog post. Elle has two older brothers (maybe I will interview them too) and watching them play on our block has been pure joy! There is something about young children as neighbors that just infuses happiness back into life. Her dad is Les Owens and he is the builder LRO Residential. If you are in the market for a beautifully built custom home in the Dallas metroplex, Les is your man. Elle’s mom Kristi is a Senior Director at SWA University (the training component for Southwest Airlines). Their kids will all go to the same elementary school that our kids went to. Now, let’s see what Elle has to say…
_____
Conversation With Elle
Tanya: What is your favorite color?
Elle: Purple!
(Note: I was shocked. I thought for sure she would say PINK)
Tanya: What is your favorite thing to do?
Elle: Playing on the swing set.
Tanya: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Elle: I think a blogger.
(I did not coach her to say that. She follows some young influencers on YouTube and is well versed in the blogger lingo.)
Tanya: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Elle: To fly!
Tanya: Which Disney princess would you be?
Elle: Belle!
