Happy Thursday! I’m sharing some favorite trends I’ve noticed from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! If you wouldn’t consider yourself “trendy” that’s okay! I’m sharing some items I think will be easy to add to your closet and not look like you’re trying too hard to be “on trend.” The easiest pieces to add will be accessories so I’m covering the denim, shoes, and handbag trends today! Remember: The #NSale opens to the public TOMORROW!

Also, before we get into these trends, I wanted to let you know that if you are looking for a great movie to see this weekend, be sure to see Mamma Mia 2 (Here We Go Again). I got to advance screen it with my college roomie Sharla earlier this week and it’s really good! Packed full of ABBA songs like the first one, the original cast returns plus many more talented people. Singing, dancing and incredible scenery! It’s been 10 years since the first one and you won’t be disappointed. And can you say CHER! It opens in theaters on Friday, July 20.

I’ll see you here bright and early on Friday morning because it’s the first day of PUBLIC ACCESS for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

Denim Trends

High Waist & Medium Wash

The high-waist denim trend has been in for a while. And I must say…I’m a fan! High waist jeans help keep everything in and are super flattering no matter how you wear them! You can tuck in a basic white tee, throw on some flats and you look cute and effortless. Another big trend I’ve noticed is the medium wash denim. I love a good pair of dark wash denim but I also love a lighter wash!

Detailed Hems

This trend has a lot of asymmetrical hems, frayed hems, cutout hems, etc. If you’re thinking about grabbing a pair of jeans with a trendy detail, but aren’t sure, the easiest ones to try out are step hem jeans. They’re the most subtle and easy way to try the trend! I also really like these jeans and they’ve been very popular during this Nordstrom Sale. I’m also loving these Veronica Beard button flare jeans.

Handbag Trends

Modern & Minimalist Neutrals

Neutrals are not a trend…But modern neutrals are a little different. These are colors that would normally be considered neutral, but since they’re a little richer and sophisticated they add a chic pop to your look. The minimalist part of this trend has to do with the actual hardware on the bag, which should be minimalistic, simple, and subtle. I think this is a good rule of thumb for all handbags!

Shoe Trends

Chunky Heels

There are tons of chunky heels in this years Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Not only are they cute, I like that you have more stability with a chunkier heel. These mules have been very popular during the sale and they come in three colors! I also love these heels!

Western Inspired Boots & Booties

Western-inspired boots & booties don’t mean you’re going to look like your straight out of Westworld! (If you don’t watch Westworld…you should!) I think this style of boot or bootie just add something interesting to your look. Two brands that are doing this style really beautifully during this sale are Vince Camuto and Marc Fisher.

Street Style Sneakers

The last trend I want to talk about are the cool, street style sneakers. These aren’t your average sneakers. They have an extra design element to them that makes them a little more special. I really love these camo ones! I shared more of my favorites below.
