Happy MONDAY! I can’t believe it is already mid-March. Just a year ago we were living out the shelter in place mandate. WOW! I can’t decide if it feels like it happened yesterday or ten years ago. Unless you have been living under a rock, you probably heard about Gen Z calling out Millennials for wearing skinny jeans and having a side part in their hair. Basically, this means you’re old. WHATEVER! I’m going to do a denim update for you all. Jeans are always a good investment because you wear them almost daily, plus you can wear them for years. Quality over quantity is always the way to go. Let’s look at my favorite jeans and how I love to style them. These looks are great everyday casual looks that really never go out of style.

Denim Update
I love a good skinny jean. So my thoughts are this. Wear what looks good on you. Don’t worry about what Gen Z is saying! They’re so easy to dress up or down and give you a sleek and flattering look. You can wear them with anything from sneakers to heels, a blouse to a t-shirt. My current favorite skinny jeans are these Ralph Lauren mid-rise skinny jeans. I love the darker shade of denim and the weight of the denim. A high-waisted skinny jean is another wardrobe staple. My current favorites are these Veronica Beard high-rise skinny jeans. For a more casual look, I paired my skinny jeans with this American flag t-shirt (also come in this navy color) and these Converse sneakers. I love a cute all-American look. I feel like the girl next door!
Another pair of jeans on my denim update are these Veronica Beard high-rise straight jeans (currently on SALE). I love that these jeans are mildly distressed without going overboard. The one hole is perfect for me. Straight jeans are great, versatile and a little change from a skinny jean. They pair well with flats or booties. Above, I am wearing these animal print flats (on major sale!). I completed my look with a simple white t-shirt and a moto jacket. This is a look that will seriously never go out of style!
The one style of jean I hope never makes a come-back? The low rise jeans of the 90’s. The one that featured everyones muffin top. No thank you!

P.S. All jeans run true to size.

My favorite jeans are Diane Gilman’s brand DG2 in virtual stretch. For baby boomers the fit is very forgiving, much more so than NYDJ and other boomer jean brands. I have skinny straight and boot cut in indigo and black. I pay $50 or less a pair. They’re on HSN. She has different washes and does distressing and embellishments but I stick to the basic it’s more classic.
Tanya, you look so young hip and fresh in this jean post!
Kris,
Thanks so much for letting me know about this brand. I’ve never heard of them.
Great info.

Tanya how are those converse tennies? Are they comfy and how is the fit? I love that look may go get a pair in white so cute!
Kris-
Converse sneakers are super comfortable. Size down one full size.
I’m normally an 8.5 shoe and I get 7.5 in Converse sneakers.
