This pier outside our Camp House was my favorite spot for our morning coffee.
The pool overlooks the lake. Beautiful view from the Regatta Grill.
You won’t need anything but casual clothes when you are at Long Cove.

This was our Camp House. We were in number one. There are five of them and they are all located on Sunset Point. You can grill outside and there is a fire pit overlooking the lake for bonfires.
This look served me well as it was a bit chilly. A light jacket is always a good idea when you are near a lake. And you know how much I love my Barrington tote. It’s the perfect weekend bag!

Look closely and you will see someone getting her lake shot. 🙂
The food at the Regatta Grill is excellent and hits the spot. This is a Flight O’ Fries and its delicious (Fries, Sweet Potato Fries and Fried Pickles)!
Look what we passed when we entered the gate to Long Cove. Longhorns!
The master bedroom in our Camp House. We looked out over the lake and it was breathtaking to watch the fish jumping.
Henderson Bay and North Shore are the sections currently being developed. This is an available lot on Henderson Bay. It can be yours!
If you have ever considered owning a lake house I have the master planned community for you – Long Cove. Just an hour from Dallas situated on the deep end of Cedar Creek Lake, this sprawling 1,100 acres of gorgeous land has 6.5 miles of shoreline. What’s keeping you from lake living? Better yet, you can try out Long Cove with their Stay & Play Weekend Vacation to see if lake life is for you. Good News: I’m partnering with Long Cove and we’re giving one away to one lucky winner ($1,495 value)! Details are at the bottom of this post.
I want to thank the lovely folks at Long Cove for having us out last weekend to experience the community. We went for the 3 day/2 night stay in one of their cabin style Camp Houses and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. There’s just something about a short road trip and getting out of Dallas that is really a reset in life. With no agenda, the weekend suddenly feels long, giving us plenty of time to relax and unplug.
Long Cove was created by Dallas’ Don McNamara, the developer and investor behind Cityplace and West Village in Uptown. Don is also a long-time resident of Cedar Creek Lake and has invested 12 years planning Long Cove. I tell you this because it is obvious when you visit that there is a master plan behind this community. Every little detail is meticulous. The lots, homes, pool, fire pits, activities – all planned out with thought and placement.
The community is a mix of waterside cottages and custom lakefront homes. Their focus is family. In fact, I observed several three generation families enjoying their weekend. How fun to have a house where everyone can gather. I could see family holidays and weekends becoming the norm here. While there are plenty of water activities to partake in, there are equally as many things to do on land. Pete and I went bike riding, walked their trails, had coffee on the pier outside of our Camp House, roasted S’mores after dinner, and watched a spectacular sunrise and sunset. In fact, the last picture was the sunset that I captured with my iPhone – no filter!
Long Cove Marina serves as the boat valet meaning you don’t even have to worry about your boat. You just let them know when you need it and it comes to your dock fully gassed up and ready to go. They winterize it and keep it clean too. The marina also has wake boarding gear if you need it. Now that’s the way to own a boat!
There is plenty for you and your children to do at Long Cove. Some of the activities include the beautiful lake front pool and hot tub located right by the Regatta Grill (where we ate all our meals), boating, golf, tennis and basketball courts, a toy barn near the playing field with tons of fun games, hiking and biking trails, community docks, fishing, bonfires, and an amphitheater for movies at night. You won’t believe how beautiful the evening sky is and how many stars you can see. Simply spectacular!
It’s easy to see how luxury lake house living could easily grow on you. Long Cove is close to Dallas, on pristine lake property with plenty of shoreline. While they maintain a preferred list of home builders and architects, you can use your own custom builder too. Long Cove currently offers three ways to join the community – Harbor Front Townhomes, Lakefront Home Sites (like the lot pictured above) and Custom Lake Homes that are ready for YOU!

It is important to note that Long Cove is a luxury lake community. It is not a resort where you vacation and stay in a hotel. I point this out only because I got a lot of questions about how to make reservations on my Instagram Stories over the weekend. If you are in the market for a lake house or have been contemplating lake life, I highly encourage you to visit and do the Stay & Play weekend. It will give you a feel for what life at Long Cove could be.
If you have any questions about our stay, feel free to leave a comment on the blog. Also, please e-mail KiKi Pennington for further information about Long Cove.
xoxo – Tanya

Its been a couple of tough weeks at my office, so just seeing these photos instantly took me there. Long Cove looks amazing! Thank you for posting.
To celebrate my 60th with girlfriends!!!
Oh my goodness! Such a Beautiful place!!!
I would love to be there every weekend with our grandchildren!
This place looks so relaxing and such a great distance from Dallas. I hope they keep the camp houses for visitors after all the homes are finished. More family-style homes, locations, and activities are needed in our area for a few days stay. Thanks for sharing the information.
