Yep, you heard right, Disney Cruise Line has added a new private island to their destination line up and its stunningly beautiful. Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point features white sand beaches and crystal clear water in Eleuthera, Bahamas. Pete and I just got back. Should you book a trip on a Disney Cruise?
Is the new island worth it?
As you know, I have been blogging/influencing for 10 years covering Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle and Travel. In those years, I’ve experienced some pretty phenomenal trips. About 5 of those have been Disney experiences and they are always superb! Remember when we went on the Disney Alaska cruise? Or how about the Christening Cruise for the new Disney cruise ship – WISH? The great thing about this blog is that you can find all of these past experiences by simply putting ‘Disney’ in the search bar. They are all there for you as a resource.
So when Disney reached out to see if we would like to be the first guests to experience their new private island, it was an automatic YES! After all, there is so much for adults to do on a Disney cruise. And let’s not forget – it makes an excellent multi generational vacation. Grab the kids and grandkids for the ultimate experience!
Our 4 day/ 3 night cruise left from Fort Lauderdale and sailed overnight to Eleuthera, Bahamas. You get to enjoy Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point for an entire day. We were on board Disney’s first ship in its fleet – the Disney Magic for this sailing. They also offer 4, 5 and 10 night cruises so be sure to check their full offerings HERE. Lookout Cay offers plenty to do including an adults-only exclusive beach (Serenity Bay), adult exclusive bars and beautiful beachside cabanas. Lookout Cay was carefully designed with the best of Disney and Bahama influences. The food, entertainment and environment are all thoughtfully curated. The Goombay Cultural Center is the hub of all the activity. And of course, there are Disney characters on the island! Don’t miss the Junkanoo celebration. The beach and water are so inviting that you will want to spend the day swimming, snorkeling and simply frolicking on the beach.
Our next port was Nassau, Bahamas which also offers lots of excursions and shopping. Or you can just enjoy everything the ship has to offer like the adults only spa & fitness center, bars, adult only restaurant – PALO and an adult only pool. That’s what Pete and I did on this sailing as we have stopped in Nassau numerous times. Truly, there is so much to do on a Disney cruise, including excellent shopping.
Why a Disney Cruise?
Why a Disney cruise? So many things set them apart. The rotating dining experience on a Disney cruise is like no other. Your wait staff travel with you each night as you rotate through Rapunzel’s Royal Table, Lumiere’s and Animator Palate enabling them to truly know you. We had so much fun connecting with other influencers we’ve met on previous trips each night at dinner. The nightly entertainment is the best in the cruise business! There are broadway level theater shows, played twice each evening to accommodate the early and late dinner seatings. Pete and I have perfected our Disney cruise schedule and always do the 6 PM theater show, head to one of the adult only bars for cocktails and trivia night at 7:30 PM and then to our 8:15 PM dinner seating. We even went to the Pirate Party and fireworks at 10 PM one night!
Mark your calendars. Disney Cruise Line will launch its newest ship in December 2024 – sailing 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. We can’t wait to see what the TREASURE looks like.
