Happy Monday! I hope you had a magnificent holiday weekend. We had such a lovely family dinner last night to celebrate Easter. And then of course, we watched Game of Thrones! I’ve been back from Aruba for about a week now, so I thought I’d recap the outfits I wore on my vacation! I received so many questions about my daily outfits that I posted in my Instagram stories. That got me thinking that maybe y’all would like to see a try-on session soon? Those are always nice to see how things fit! I showed you some different ways to style these pieces in my previous packing list post. And you can read about the beautiful island and resort I stayed at in last week’s post here. Everything I am showing you today would be great for your beach vacation or just great staples to add to your summer wardrobe. Now, on with the show…
everything I wore in aruba
Refer back to this blog post to see how I packed for Aruba.
______
I wore this comfortable outfit on the plane ride to Aruba. It was perfect because I just took off the cardigan when I got there! Also, I loved wearing these rose gold sandals (they come in gold and many other colors) throughout my trip because I could dress them up or down. I get so cold on airplanes that I always like to layer my travel outfit. Plus white jeans are chic no matter where you are!
_____
This white coverup is so lightweight and easy! It goes great over any swimwear, especially my pretty patterned swimsuit pictured here underneath the coverup. I am wearing size medium in both pieces.
_____
I loved my outfit this night because it looked effortless! The terry cloth tunic (size medium) can be a swim coverup, but I wore it to dinner on the beach. Adorable with a red bag like this similar one here! If you feel like its too short (I am 5′ 8″ for reference), you could also wear some shorts underneath. That makes the dress a long tunic top.
_____
Nothing better than waking up to this view! This Soma pajama set kept me so comfy and cool for coffee on our balcony. Soma has the BEST pajamas and they are called Cool Nights.
_____
See what I said about these rose gold sandals? I wore them on the plane, to dinner, and then on the beach! I thought this pink and orange coverup was just so cute to wear around too. You could easily dress this up for dinner as well! I am wearing size medium in the dress. This swimsuit top and bottom are underneath.
_____
The best thing about this swimsuit is that it contains 50+ UPF sun protection! I can’t say enough great things about the brand Cabana Life. I’m really loving the beachy pattern and ocean blue shades this new one-piece. I’m wearing size medium for reference. Everyone noticed that my swimsuit matched the ocean. Brilliant!
_____
Who knew Soma made clothes and not just bras and underwear? This black Soma maxi (size medium) was so lovely and chic for dinner. You could easily wear it on the beach too. It’s so soft that I just want to sleep in it! It’s a mock wrap dress so it actually does not come unwrapped. I can not say enough about this dress – order it! My NEST Jewelry and straw bag (similar here) added the perfect touch! FYI – My exact bag comes in a gorgeous brown leather and bamboo here.
_____
I couldn’t forget to bring a sunhat to the beach! This one is cute and classic, especially when paired with a straw beach tote. It was super windy in Aruba and my hair was always a hot mess. The low pony tail and hat really helped contain my hair. I cannot say enough great things about this black one-piece swimsuit I have on underneath the black cover dress. It sucks it all in! You can see it better in this picture I posted on Instagram.
_____
My hat came in handy for our sunset cruise, as my hair can get a little unruly out in the ocean air! I went for a simple and casual, classic look. My mom’s vintage gold coin necklace definitely completed my outfit (similar here). Also, I was so happy I had this denim jacket with me. I put it on as soon as we started sailing as it was really chilly when the sun went down.
_____
I really loved wearing this fabulous Hermes scarf while exploring Aruba! Mine is old, but you can find a similar Hermès scarf here. Or I love this Gucci scarf too! I typically tie my Hermes scarf on my handbag as a pop of color but I’m loving it in my hair! Cute beach accessories like these and my go-to tote (similar here) elevate any vacation outfit. Also, I love a good high neckline, halter swimsuit but this one is unavailable. Here is another great option with a similar neckline. This was the day we went exploring with a UTV ride so I wanted something that was going to hold up for 4-5 hours.
_____
Casual and easy, this outfit was great for walking around Aruba and grabbing a bite to eat! These shorts are the perfect long length (Bermuda shorts) especially if you no longer wear short shorts. Bermuda shorts are great with flats (like the slides I have on) or a wedge sandal or espadrille.
_____
This coverup looks gorgeous against the ocean, right? I loved this cute kimono because it was super easy to toss on when headed to the beach or pool. I think it will be cute styled as a Kimono over shorts and a tee as well. Think of your clothing items as multi-purpose!
______
This dress was the comfiest outfit for exploring Aruba! It’s a t-shirt dress that seriously feels as good as pajamas.
______
Here is my last look in Aruba! We were so sad to leave and get back to reality. Similar to my first travel outfit, I brought a light jacket for the plane ride home. This gingham one was just adorable! Again, white denim is chic no matter when or where you wear it.

OH, now I know why your roller bag was so heavy. (All I took was a backpack.) Well, and a small roller.
Hahahaha! You are too funny!

Just purchased your Soma dress! Looking forward to wearing it for summer evenings. Thanks for sharing this great trip with all of us, and to Pete — thanks for carrying the bags!
You will LOVE that Soma dress Paige. I bet you live in it this summer!
Thanks for your support!

Lol
I usually pack a swimsuit, a golf outfit, one dress ,one pair of sandals. Plus T-shirt dress that does triple duty as outerwear, nightgown and swim coverup and undies. I love the brand David Cline, its a t shirt line made in Newport CA.
The golf outfit I wear for more than golf it’s more polished. I have a golf ball cap for headcoverage
On the plane I wear jeans t shirt cardigan or jacket with tennis shoes.
Intersting packing list Kris.
I’m not sure I can get on board with the t-shirt dress that is also a nightgown as well as outerwear and swim coverup.
I prefer a clean, fresh nightgown at night. Especially after a day at the beach.
Thanks for sharing!
xoxo- Tanya 🙂
