Happy JUNE! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a super relaxing one and just got caught up on tons of “to-do’s”. Good thing because June is the month for non-stop travel over here at TanyaFoster.com. Let’s talk about this dress… Do you know what dress style is universally flattering on everyone? Well today I’m going to share my secret with you. It is the fit and flare dress. Seriously, this dress is so slimming and creates an illusion of a smaller waist! So I just had to share my thoughts on this with you, let’s go!
This new little black fit and flare dress enhances my body shape because it balances out the bottom half of my body with my top half. As you can see, I personally am tall (5’8″) with a slim figure and fuller bust. So this fit and flare dress style highlights both a feminine and fuller silhouette beautifully. But if you do have a mostly straight silhouette, a fit and flare dress will also help you create the illusion of some curves. It’s a great trick! Fit and flares are classic and quite lady-like. From Audrey Hepburn to Beyoncé, beautiful women of all body types have opted for the fit and flares for ages. It has stayed around for decades, regardless of the seasons and changing trends. The fit and flare dress is not limited to certain ages nor body sizes either. Women with straight figures love the curve-creating silhouette. And those with a rounder tummy will appreciate how fit and flare dresses bring in their waist. If you are short, be sure to opt for this silhouette in a petite so that the ratio of the dress balances out. It accentuates the good parts and hides the not so good parts of the body – like those love handles.
If you don’t already have a go-to fit and flare dress, it is definitely time to invest in one. See below for more of my favorite fit & flares!
xoxo – Tanya
