Hello Monday, Hello SUMMER! Now that it is officially Summer, let’s talk about this season’s most classic trend – Gingham. I love gingham because it’s trendy but also timeless. It has been a staple since the 50s and 60s, and now there are so many modern options too. This chic pattern adds so much dimension and interest to any look, so it’s great to add to your closet. The best part about the gingham trend is that it works at all price points and in all different colors. You can wear it as an accent in a handbag or shoe, or go for a full on gingham look with a dress or statement pant like mine (sold out but similar here). Now let’s discuss all the ways you can wear the gingham trend this Summer!
One of my favorite ways to incorporate gingham is with these pants. My outfit felt instantly Summer-ready just by swapping out my jeans for gingham pants. Mine are slim ankle pants, but you could also go for these gingham high waisted pants or cropped belted trousers. The bold print speaks for itself, so I suggest keeping the rest of your outfit more neutral and simple like with a basic tee and crisp white blazer. I always like to have a little fun, so these red loafers provided the prettiest pop of color. But I may even dress this outfit down with a denim jacket and white sneakers. My look is comfortable and stylish, plus it can function for both a work meeting or a weekend outing. Another great work to weekend option is a gingham skirt. Just pair with a comfy tee and sandals on the weekend. Then wear it to work with a button down and flats. Gingham really makes for the perfect Summer update on any occasion.
Whether it be a summer dress, separates, swimwear, shoes or a simple gingham accessory, I recommend updating your Summer looks by incorporating the gingham trend. No wardrobe is complete without an eye-catching checkered piece. I’ve rounded up my favorite selections below. I hope this gives you some inspiration for wearing the fresh yet classic gingham trend!

P.S. Pete and I are traveling most of the day and heading back from Vancouver, Canada. We have just finished our 8 day Alaskan Cruise with Disney Cruise Line on board the Disney WONDER and I cannot wait to recap it for you on the blog. A HUGE thank you to Ramsey for holding down the fort in Dallas and keeping the blog going! 🙂
