Happy National Dog Day

Happy National Dog Day! You have been introduced to Max and Sparky, our norfolk terriers many times. After all, I shamelessly feature them in fashion posts every once in a while. But today, the post will be all about them.

Sparky is eight years old and Max (short for Maxwell) is eight months old. I introduced you to Max in this blog post when we brought him home. Max has quickly grown up and is only slightly smaller than Sparky these days. We feed them Hill’s Science Diet dog food and buy all of their toys and chews (made of natural products) at Lucky Dog Barkery. The staff members are knowledgeable and so helpful. For the hot summer months they have offered dog popsicles which both of ours pups really enjoy. You can even take your pets with you to shop. Norfolk terriers are hand stripped so we have to take them to a special groomer for this service. It helps keep their wire-haired coat intact and their hair is always the same length. They love to go for walks and if they are in the backyard, Sparky likes to bark at the pool cleaner.

I do want to mention that we love Operation Kindness if you are considering adopting a dog (or cat). My son and I volunteered at this no-kill animal shelter and got to see first hand what an amazing facility it is. Don’t need a furry friend? They could always use your donations or volunteer time.

In reflecting on these old pictures that I pulled for this post, I noticed that my hair color tends to change and match my dogs. I guess you could say that owner and dog really do look alike.
