How to Easily Summer-ize Your Wardrobe

Max and I want to wish you a Happy Monday! Also this is your friendly reminder that tomorrow (April 18) is Tax Day…eek! Are you someone who does your taxes right away or waits until the last minute? Max was feeling camera ready for shoot day and joined me for today’s topic: how to easily summer-ize your wardrobe. I know what you’re thinking – ‘it’s only April?!’ My advice is to start adding pieces that can be worn for both spring and summer so that you keep your wardrobe current. These are just simple ways to dress for spring while also preparing for summer. Personally, I love shopping at Tommy Bahama for this time of year. They always have the best fashion pieces for spring, summer or vacation. Pete also loves buying clothes here. They have great options for men that I’ve linked below.

Tips to Summer-ize Your Wardrobe

I found all of my items above on my recent trip to Palm Springs. The weather there is warm year round, so I knew I would find great selections for late spring and summer. One easy tip to get your wardrobe summer ready? Buy linen. Linen is a breathable and lightweight material that is a must for summer. This long sleeve linen button down shirt is the perfect spring to summer transitional top. The long sleeves make it great for spring. Just cuff them for warmer weather. If you prefer solid colors, then you’ll love this long sleeve linen top or this linen camp shirt for a short sleeve option.

Another way to summer-ize your wardrobe? Shorts! Once the temperature is above 70, start wearing shorts. Just wear them with a long sleeve shirt or lightweight jacket for spring. Tommy Bahama has many wonderful shorts options for both men and women. I personally love these Boracay cotton shorts. They have a 5 inch inseam, which is a great length for me. These shorts (7 inch inseam) are also great way to wear longer shorts without going full Bermuda length. For reference, I have longer legs, so the shorts may fit longer on you.They are made of a great durable material that is flattering and comfortable. Speaking of summer, it’s time to get a pedicure because it’s now sandal season! Y’all know I’m at Sophia’s Nail Salon on the regular. She keeps my nails and toes in tip top shape! Adding a great pair of slide sandals will instantly prepare your wardrobe for the warmer weather. These Gucci slide sandals are the perfect everyday statement shoe for spring and summer. Orange is a really popular color this season, so a shoe is an easy way to incorporate a new trend. As far as accessories go, add in straw or raffia jewelry or handbags to prepare for summer. This crocheted raffia clutch is a super cute option.
