Hello and happy Tuesday! Can you believe it is the last week of January? That means it’s almost Valentine’s Day! Be sure and check out what to gift and wear this Valentine’s Day HERE. Today let’s look at casual yet chic winter fashion and learn how to style a black coat. Although black coats go with almost everything, there are ways to style it so that it is a part of your look, versus just another layer. Instead of bulky, let’s all look stylish and sleek this winter!

We are still in the dead of winter, so it is always a good time to invest in a black coat. This double-breasted wool coat by MANGO is so chic and warm. Plus, it comes in six colors! It is the perfect length and weight, plus it shapes nicely. I am in a size small. Another fabulous double-breasted wool coat is this wool wrap coat. I love the tie-waist and the longer length. It comes in four colors.

Ok so now that you have a coat, how do you style a black coat? For starters, black almost always goes with black. A turtleneck sweater not only keeps you warm, but also extends the line of your coat, giving you that sleek look. I recommend this black turtleneck cashmere sweater. If you want a lighter layer, I recommend this ribbed fine knit sweater. I pair the turtleneck with these Frame flare denim jeans. These jeans make your legs look so long, which again add to the sleekness of this look. Lastly, pair the look with a pair of booties. For a flash of color, I wore these animal print ankle boots. Don’t forget black cat eye sunglasses. For a less expensive option, you’ll love these black sunglasses.

Voila! You are now chic, sleek and ready for winter.

xoxo – Tanya
