How to transition smoothly to fall

How are you enjoying this ‘cold front’ we’re having in Dallas? When is the last time your remember it being in the 80’s during the month of August? What a nice reprieve from the summer heat. It seems like a good time to talk about how to transition smoothly to fall. Victoria and I decided to do that utilizing one color – black.

When it comes to fall wardrobe choices, working with fabrics and colors that work at least 6 months is a good rule. It doesn’t really get cold here until December so our fall season is a great time to still wear lightweight fabrics. Of course, black is a year-round color. Victoria and I pulled some of our favorite brands from Nordstrom during a shopping spree and styled our mom/daughter looks.The great thing about Nordstrom is that they have plenty of brands and selections for all age groups. It was so easy for us to find something quickly.

You probably know by now that a fit and flare dress is one of my favorites. Eliza J Dresses makes some of the best fit and flare silhouettes and the brand fits true to size. In fact, I found so many that I am linking some of my favorites below in addition to this one that I have on. A dress is always going to be my top choice because it’s the easiest to style. Grab some shoes and a great bag and you are done and out the door. I’m ready for work, a luncheon or a funeral. Take your pick.

Victoria picked a very chic and trendy look that is so on point. These rag & bone jeans are so good! Remember the raw hem denim I showed you in this blog post? I knew I was on to something! The off the shoulder top just kicks it up a notch, don’t you think? And the studded leather bag is the perfect size. Personally, I like a big ole’ oversized bag like this one. I guess I have a lot more stuff.

The point is we are both ready for fall with our all black ensemble. Now, please tell mother nature to cooperate! xoxo – Tanya
