Hello fun friends! I hope you had an amazing holiday weekend. I certainly enjoyed having Monday off. Did you notice there wasn’t a blog post or e-mail? Did you miss me? I recently posed this question on social media and got so many conflicting answers. Do you wear white jeans after Labor Day? Let’s take today to discuss how to wear white after Labor Day with confidence. I’m partnering with Nordstrom to show you how.
For those of you wondering how Victoria is still appearing on the blog after she returned to college, we shot a lot of content right before she left in late August. I knew this fashion question was going to be a collaboration with Nordstrom so we went ahead and styled it. She does such an amazing job pulling clothes and styling them. It’s really refreshing for me to watch her.
First let me say that I wear white jeans year-round. I love white in the winter! But I will say that it’s important to style it so that the white denim fits in with the season. After all, I wouldn’t wear white shorts in winter no matter how warm it might be. And in general, I don’t wear white heels. Not because of any fashion rule, but because I just don’t like them. Victoria did a magnificent job pulling great pieces from Nordstrom for a perfect updated look. This works now (take the cashmere sweater and drape it over your shoulders and wear a white tee – until the temperature cools down) and carries you from fall to winter. It’s casual yet pulled together and on trend. The leather hobo bag is such a great piece and it also comes in black. Personally, I love the tennis shoes for this look put you could also wear these incredible mules. If you don’t like distressed denim be sure to try these. It’s one of my favorite premium denim brands and fits true to size. For more premium denim be sure to look at this blog post.

Now its your turn to give me some input and answer the question. Do you wear white after Labor Day? Why or why not? Please leave a comment below.

IMO
No to white jeans or white pants ever.
I subscribe to the Betty Halbreicht theory (famous personal shopper at Bergdorf)
she says no white pants or jeans it’s a highlighter to making your bottom half look bigger
Do a photo snap of the young lady above with dark or black jeans and put them side to side
That would be a great lesson
Kris-
Thanks so much for your comments. Please know that I have linked to a pair of white jeans that are not distressed as well as the ones Victoria has styled. I think that both pairs of jeans are appropriate.
The over-sized bag is a huge trend and we’re seeing it everywhere, especially when worn over the shoulder. But its not for everyone.
Thanks!

One more thought then I’ll be quiet today
My opinions
The bag shown is way over scale to this young lady and too square it visually broadens her.
Stop featuring torn jeans are not chic and I’d never wear them.
A post on the right scale and shape of bag based on body height and scale?
I see a lot of women schlepping way too big of bags to their body.
I love the look!!! I live in Calif. And it’s hot/warm until Dec. I love the white and I love the distressed jeans it makes it not so dressy. Not many designers follow the old rule of no white after Labor Day. This is the reason why they came up with winter white so we could wear white in all it’s hues all year long! Great job Tanya ❤
How do you wear white after Labor Day?
You don’t.
No self-respecting southern woman would be caught dead in it.
But it is lovely in the spring and summer.
