Happy December! Don’t panic, Christmas is 24 days away. OK, maybe panic a little. Today I am going to introduce you to the most delicious baker of shortbread cookies and you will be thankful that you learned about her here on the blog. Le Gourmet Valet will change your world. And they make a fantastic gift idea!
Becky Nelson grew up with foodie grandparents and a scratch cook Mom. So when this SMU graduate got inspired to start her own company in 2003 (after raising her kids and holding down an assortment of jobs), it only seemed natural that it had something to do with food. She heard Ina Garten speak at a luncheon at the Dallas Country Club, inspiring her to take the next steps to launching a food service business. Voila, Le Gourmet Valet was born!
Le Gourmet Valet operates as a full catering company. They can cater an intimate dinner party of 8 to a reception for up to 200. Becky handles everything including the rentals, staff, catering menu and of course, the delicious shortbread cookies. She makes them in holiday designs and can even customize them for you. Notice my pink “TF” shortbread cookies she made for me that I delivered to my non-profit consulting clients. They were gone in 5 minutes. Did I mention that if you order them directly from Le Gourmet Valet, they will deliver them to you? Talk about freshly baked!
Laura F. and I met for coffee at Royal Blue Grocery in Highland Park Village to sample some of her shortbread cookies. They are sold there (in cute cellophane packages) and in this beautiful holiday tin at Neiman Marcus. In fact, the holiday tin is listed as one of my gift ideas in my gift guide. It’s perfect because you can order it online and it can ship anywhere. We enjoyed getting caught up, sampling her cookies and enjoying our coffee. Laura is a family friend who has been a great helper to me, especially during the holiday season. Don’t you love seeing her on the blog?
I highly encourage you to give Le Gourmet Valet a ring a try them out 214-738-2378. Or contact them by clicking here. Either way, be sure to try the shortbread cookies! xoxo- Tanya

About Becky Nelson:
Becky Nelson is the founder and owner of Le Gourmet Valet. Becky received her undergraduate degree in Marketing from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. She also attended the Culinary School of Ft. Worth and the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at SMU.
Becky has worked in food related businesses for the past 10 years. In 2012, Nelson launched Le Gourmet Valet, a meal delivery and full service catering company, which has served many of Dallas’ most prominent families and organizations. Her first “storefront” was a booth at the St. Michael’s Farmers Market selling her unique, hand-decorated shortbread cookies, which were picked up by Neiman Marcus in late 2015 and are sold as an exclusive gourmet food on neimanmarcus.com.

These cookies make the BEST custom dessert for a party or the perfect gift. Truly unlike any “cookie” you’ve ever tasted. I have served and given as gifts and people are always oohing and ahhing and going back for more. With a little customisation it makes it look like you put so much thought into it and the receipient always is touched. I make a list for business and family out of town – totally recommend!! ( and for your own parties!)
They are the best!
