It’s no secret that I love a good facial. I’ve covered numerous treatments on this site over the six years I’ve been blogging. BEAUTY is one of the topics that really resonates with my audience. Probably because I am always in the pursuit of the fountain of youth. Aesthetic procedures, spa treatments, skincare, make-up, hair care and more. When I was approached to try the LED Facial at Eleven Wellness, I was intrigued. Does it work? Let’s find out. Plus, there’s a little GIVEAWAY on the blog today…

Before we get started, I want to share that Eleven Wellness just moved and has a NEW home. They are now in Preston Center – 6117 Berkshire Ln, Dallas, Texas 75225 (next to Rock n’ Roll Sushi). There’s a parking garage directly in front of them so you will find ample parking. You will find plenty of blog posts and reviews on my site about Eleven Wellness. Mariah Cuniff has done all of my Forma Facial and Forma Body treatments. Alison Tohlen, Julia Critelli and Tiffany Ingram have done numerous facials. Click her to see my thoughts on the Aquagold Facial, and click here for the Procell Microchanneling Facial. I’ve even done IV Therapy with them. So you might wonder why I’ve tried a new type of facial.

What is Light Therapy?

Originally researched and developed by NASA, low-level light therapy is the application of light energy to the body & tissue to help compromised cells regenerate. It produces a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis, and has a wide range of beneficial applications across many medical fields, including the treatment of skin, muscle, joint and pain conditions. The light (photons) energy is absorbed by photoacceptors in the mitochondria and used to create adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP produced then stimulates various metabolic processes which can result in the repair and regeneration of cell and tissue components. It increases the production of collagen & elastin, increases blood circulation and decreases inflammation. Phototherapy is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and has a variety of applications across many medical fields.

The bottom line is – anti-aging! Any type of treatment that is going to promote the production of collagen is good news to me. Julia Critelli was my medical aesthetician for the LED Facial. Actually, what I had that day was the Customized Facial with the Red Light LED add on. The reason for this is that my skin is extra dry in the winter and not only did I need a deep cleaning (bring on all the steam), I also needed a lot of TLC with moisture, creams, gels and masks. Basically, I just let them assess me when I get there and trust that the result will be magnificent. It always is!

The result is the immediate gratification of glowing skin! Also, if you are having any breakouts, the Red Light LED promotes healing. I highly recommend this amazing facial (and all services) at Eleven Wellness.

GIVEAWAY ALERT: One lucky subscriber will WIN a Customized Facial + Red Light LED treatment at Eleven Wellness. Simply leave a comment on today’s blog post and tell me WHY you are in much need of a little TLC. All entries must be received by Sunday, February 16 at 11:59 PM. Winner will be announced on the blog next week. Good Luck!
