Pink earrings, pink tote bags, pops of pink clothing, pink scarves… you name it and I like to incorporate pink into my look. While I am normally a nude lipstick queen, I was given the opportunity to try a bold pink matte lipstick from Mary Kay and I gotta tell you, I love it! Add the fact that I am making a difference with Mary Kay’s Pink Changing Lives Program and it’s a win-win! Check out how can you help save lives too with Mary Kay’s Limited-Edition Matte Lipstick in Paparazzi Pink.

I was honored to get to spend three days learning about Mary Kay at the end of April. Since it is headquartered in Dallas, it was a little staycation for me. Some of the highlights of visiting the Mary Kay headquarters were seeing Mary Kay Ash’s office exactly how it was when she ran the company (I got a picture sitting at her desk), taking a tour of the R3 Manufacturing/R&D Center and watching product being packaged en masse, making my own pink lip gloss and lotion and getting an exclusive sneak peek of product that will be launching this year. I have to say, I have a whole new appreciation for how make-up, skincare and beauty products are researched, formulated, produced, packaged and the marketing that goes behind all of it! I will be sharing much more with several blog and social media posts throughout the rest of the year.

A little history… Did you know that Mary Kay Ash started her company on September 13, 1963? She set out to disrupt the business world with her unique sales model that was built by a woman, for women. You probably know that the company’s independent sales force is its secret sauce to success. You can easily connect with an Independent Beauty Consultant on marykay.com. If you are ever in doubt of how phenomenal Mary Kay Ash was, be sure to visit the Mary Kay Museum. Her honors and acknowledgments are endless. Now that’s what you call a true Texas trailblazer!
