BEFORE: I am horrified how much clutter we have in here.
Have you ever seen so many canned goods or condiments? Lordy!
Valerie and Amy hard at work! I am thankful that they didn’t run for the hills when they saw my pantry.
All bins, baskets and storage items are labeled. This makes identification simple.

AFTER
With all this time we have on our hands, why not reorganize your pantry, closets and storage areas? A couple of years ago I did a blog post on pantry organization and it really resonated with my audience. By popular demand, I am sharing it today with a few updates. Please be sure to get a good laugh at the overabundance of A-1 steak sauce. Enjoy!
I love goals! One of those things is being more organized… with my time, my blog and my life. So I decided to start with our home. Let me introduce you to NEAT Method and show you how they transformed my kitchen pantry utilizing items from The Container Store. This pantry organization is so simple yet makes a huge difference!
First of all, I am horrified to show you the before pictures of my pantry. It’s a hot mess! I mean, just look at the stuff everywhere, especially on the floor. Second, Pete must think there will be a shortage of canned food soon and he’s buying out the local grocery store. Bless his heart, if it’s on sale, he thinks we need it. At least he will go to the grocery store, a task which I hate to complete.
I reached out to NEAT Method because I had seen the results other people were getting. And I absolutely love The Container Store so this was a win-win! Co-Founded by Ashley Murphy and Molly Graves, NEAT Method is a “organization” company with operations across the country.
How it works: A NEAT Method representative will meet with you in your home for a short assessment to discuss your needs and organization priorities. They can organize just about anything including the following: Attics, Bathrooms, Bedrooms, Closet Organizing & Design, Garages, Holiday Prep & Storage, Home Office / Den, Kitchens & Pantries, Laundry Rooms, Mudroom, Nurseries / Kids Rooms, Space Planning & Arrangement and Storage Areas. After the consultation, you will get a proposal outlining each area and how many hours it will take to organize. Then they will make an appointment to complete the task. If anything is needed, they run to the store and get it for you. You do absolutely nothing!
My pantry organization took 4 hours. This is what they do (I did nothing but take the pictures). The first step is to empty your space and assess all the items. In the case of our pantry, they go through all the food products and make a separate pile of anything that is expired. You choose whether you want to put them back in the pantry (no, thank you!). Get this, they even haul it off for you! Next they add all the bins, baskets and storage items obtained at The Container Store and strategically organize the items back in to your space. Once they are done, they present the organized result to you. Can you just say WOW!
I believe one of the reasons we have 7 bottles of A-1 steak sauce is because we couldn’t see it. So every time we went to the grocery store we would pick one up. Or maybe Pete thought there was a buy one, get four for free sale. 🙂 Regardless, my kitchen pantry now looks beautifully curated and I can see every single thing. No overstocking happening here.
Here’s to an organized pantry and life! xoxo- Tanya

Too funny that you mentioned the A-1 sauce. The quantity jumped out at me too!
Ha. I immediately noticed that. If I am short on A-1 I know where to come!
How can you miss it? I mean seriously…

You totally inspired me to organize my pantry! Love everything here!
YES!!! It’s inspired me to organize more in my house.

Looks pretty, but where the heck is the salt? Old dog, new tricks thing. I could find everything before…now I have to read labels and such. Progress I guess…and I like to have 5 bottles of A1 on hand…
You know where the salt is silly. And everything else!

We have had our pantry and laundry room professionally organized. Literally taken all shelves out and started all over. So if you want to do another space, I suggest the laundry room. I know you are feeling the love! It is life changing! (Ps, we didn’t use Container Store, but after seeing your cool containers, I am going there tomorrow!)
The Container Store has something for every single space in your home.
That’s why I love their stuff. I am obsessed!

I so need to do this. Our pantry floor is a mess, and I am pretty sure we have expired stuff on our shelves too.
The cabinets in my master bathroom need a clean & organize. Oh, and the cabinet under our kitchen sink. I should start small and work my way through it.
Luci,
Mine gets disorganized once Pete gets in there. I need to update it again.

Hello Tanya,
As a recently new subscriber, this particular post resonated with me. My darling husband isn’t a neatnik like I am and at times, he’s a bit disorganized. I own and operate a busy real estate investment company, so organization is key. On Monday 8 Jan. 2018, I took to heart your post and reorganized all our kitchen pantries. I got rid of old cake pans and some canned goods that had expired. Let me say the purging & reorganization was therapeutic in that there’s a shelf for all canned goods, another for pastas and quinoa. The whole house is clean and I intend to reorganize my [home] office desk & drawers. Many thanks to you and the Container Store (of which I’m a huge fan) for helping me step up my game. I feel so much better organized throughout my day.
Alicia,
Oh my goodness! You are my spirit animal.
Way to go!

Do you have a link to that wire basket that has the paper towels in it?
I think mine is old but here is one that is currently at The Container Store.

We kinda re-organzied the pantry and found some items from 2014. :/ Guess we should do this more regularly, LOL! Love the tiered shelf gonna look into that one.
Shelly,
OH DEAR! That’s what happens when you can’t see everything. I love cleaning out the pantry!
