Right at this very moment I am on a vacation. I am far, far away letting go of all of my stress, ailments and worries. But I have not left Dallas. In fact I am laying in a chair at BodyLogic MD of Dallas enjoying Physio Acoustic Sound Wave Therapy. And I have never felt better or been happier.
Before you think I am tripping on LSD or have joined a cult and have lit too many incense sticks, let me explain. I met Dr. Nikki Walden and her husband Mike Walden,Certified Health Coach while researching the Ideal Protein weight loss regimen (more about this to come in another blog post). While there, Mike encouraged me to try the chair since I have migraine headaches. It’s one hour of your life that will change you. Think of it as a massage but your results will be long-lasting. You lay in a chair that will vibrate gently with the sound waves (music/sounds) you hear in your headset. You will be in a calm, dark room and will drift off to a far away place. The first time I did it my journey was to space. I really felt like I was traveling through the stars to another galaxy. When my session was over, I was a new person. Refreshed, relaxed, calm and I experienced the best nights sleep I have ever had. The second time, I was traveling through the desert in Morocco. The colors were so vibrant that I could accurately describe the scenery even though I have never been there. Amazing!
The Next Wave therapy chair is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a class II medical device (FDA 510(k)). The FDA allows three claims: tension relief, increase of blood circulation and relief of pain. Research shows this therapy is used to treat injuries, ailments and many other issues. Athletes use it to rehab quicker. I use it to push the “reset” button in my life. I highly recommend you give it a try. And let me know where your journey takes you. You will be a new person!
xoxo- Tanya

History
Sound energy as a concept, has been used in medical science for several decades, for example, the use of ultra sound i.e. high sound frequencies, is commonly used in modern healthcare. During the 1980′s, Scandinavian and English scientists discovered that low-frequency sound waves could also be of benefit, with initial research revolving around the management of children with physical and intellectual disabilities – less agitation, improved range of motion in limbs, better sleep patterns.
The Physioacoustic methodology was designed by Petri Lehikoinen, Clinical Psychology and music therapist. From his years of work, we now have a compact device that precisely replicates and controls low frequency sound vibrations. NextWave’spatented Physioacoustic therapy system is a unique method of using low frequencies within the range of 27-113 Hertz for therapeutic purposes such as improving circulation, relieving pain and relaxing muscle tissue. Next Wave systems have been scientifically tested, is FDA (USA) and BSI (UK) listed and in wide use throughout Europe, United Kingdom, North America, Australia, Singapore and Japan.
How Physioacoustic works
Physioacoustic therapy affects all body functions, mainly the control center in the brains, the thalamus, but also on other nerve tissue, muscle and connective tissue and the blood and lymph circulation. The technology has been incorporated into a special reclining therapy chair and into a luxurious wellness bed. There are six audio speakers placed and connected to a special software program. The speakers produce audible and sensible sound vibrations that will influence the body at the cellular level.
Physioacoustic therapy is based on the natural frequency of every human cell. When playing the correct frequency a specific group of cells will vibrate unconstrained. In physics this is called resonance. The natural frequencies of numerous groups of body cells are stored in the computer software. Different frequencies in a range of 27 till 113 Hertz are combined to achieve the optimum resonance. The unique ability to control the direction of the sound – from bottom to top, and vice versa – will stimulate the blood and lymph circulation. Changing the strength (pulsation) of the sound vibrations will prevent overstimulation.
A special preparation for a treatment is not needed. Physioacoustic therapy works through clothing, bandage, medical support modifications or plaster cast. Physioacoustic therapy is also called: Physio Acoustic, PAS, PA or Sound Wave therapy.
This is the first time I’ve heard of Physioacoustic therapy. It does sound like a solution for people during stress. And that photo of autumn leave is magnificent.
Thank you Mai!

Hello Pauline,
We work with a physioacoustic device called The Pyradym, one of only 30 currently in the world this instrument is a scale version of the Great Pyramid of Giza which incorporates sacred geometry into its design. It is a 3 tone signal generator producing low end frequencies that works upon the principle of physioacoustic stimulation and is FDA approved for pain management. If you would care to hear more please message me. We are based in NYC. Hope this may help you somewhere down the line. Many Thanks…ben
This sounds so relaxing! I am going to call and see if they have any referrals in Florida! Thanks for sharing! <3
