Designer pieces like handbags, shoes, jewelry, sunglasses, and belts can be expensive. A lot of times, you don’t want to pay the full price. That’s when you should consider getting those pieces from other authenticated sources for a lot less. You can get designer pieces for less on special consignment sites like The RealReal, Vestiaire Collective, Rebag, Fashionphile, and many more. You can even find nice designer pieces with eBay’s Authenticity Verified tool. Below, you’ll find some amazing designer pieces for less and a few of my tips for finding them. They key is to do your research!
Before we get started with today’s topic, I had the pleasure of advance screening the movie LAST CHRISTMAS on Tuesday night with some of my subscribers. This is always a fun outing and I love getting to see you all in person! While I’m not a movie critic, I can tell you that this movie is a cute rom com with a plot twist at the end. I teared up a bit when I figured out what was happening. Although it’s a great sentimental message, there is absolutely no chemistry between Emilia Clark and Henry Golding and the movie (and acting) seemed forced. It opens in theaters today (November 8). Meh.
There are tons of sites out there with designer pieces. Some of the best (in my opinion) are TheRealReal, Vestiaire Collective, and eBay. Each of these sites has great, authenticated options. You can find handbags like an iconic Hermes Birkin bag, a Prada tote, or a Chanel bag! While I prefer to shop at the actual boutique and purchase the designer piece directly from the brand, I know that’s not always possible. These sites offer a great alternative while saving money!
You can also find other accessories like shoes and jewelry. Get Christian Louboutin heels or cute Gucci sneakers for less. Or maybe you’ve always wanted a Cartier watch or bracelet. You can even find discounted David Yurman rings or Gucci belts. I also love some of the Hermes scarves I found. You can shop more in the boutique below.
- Research First: Know exactly what you’re looking for and how much it costs when it’s full price. Also know what other styles, colors, and sizes it comes in. Then, when you’re looking through these sites to find your perfect bag, you’ll know exactly what you’re looking for.
- Filter, Filter, Filter: Once you’ve decided what you want, you can go onto these websites and find it. But to do that, make sure you know how to filter your search. For example, if you go onto eBay and search “Gucci bag,” you’ll see thousands of options. That’s when you go to their filtering options and sort the results by color, size, price, etc. Narrowing it down will help you find exactly what you want.
- Make Sure It’s Authenticated – Most sites like The RealReal and Vestiaire Collective are known for their extensive authentication process and can be completely trusted. But if you’re on a site like eBay, make sure you click the Authenticity Verified box on the bottom left so all of the results you see are definitely real. This will assure that you don’t get something fake.
Also, I had a reader question about mixing brand labels and logos. The GG belt, Hermes bracelets, Burberry plaid, CC handbags and jewelry… you get the picture. My rule of thumb for this is that “less is more”. If I wear my Hermes belt with H buckle (and I wear it a lot), I try not to wear more than one other logo (if any). If you wear too much at one time you might look like a rapper in a music video. Nothing wrong with that as long as that is the look you are going for. Peace Out!
