The holiday season is upon us. Christmas is around the corner and New Year’s Eve will be here soon. The beautiful holiday lights glow, there are parties almost every night, restaurants are packed and everyone is so festive. This is the most wonderful time of year and one of my favorite things about this time is our holiday traditions.

My husband is very much in to traditions. He has wonderful memories of growing up in a very large family (he is the oldest of eight) and carrying on the tradition of having lots of family over to our house. In fact, we host Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner in our home every year. Yes, we cook the entire meal and love having everyone come over. Over the years we have adjusted a bit as our children have grown up but we still have everyone open gifts on Christmas morning followed by a day together. When the kids were little, we would have to hold them off until a reasonable time in the morning (they used to wake up really early to see what Santa brought). Now, we wrangle the college kids up and are lucky to be doing anything by noon.  Occasionally, Pete and I will catch a movie at the end of Christmas day. On Christmas Eve we attend the 4 PM Christmas mass at our church followed by dinner with my parents. Since my mother is German, Christmas Eve is the big holiday celebration with them.

Regardless of what your plans are, you will want a little sparkle in your life. This outfit I have one is perfect for your holiday celebrations. I love pairing the sequin skirt with a bold color sweater. You can barely tell but I have on nude fish net hose to add another pattern to the mix. The added bonus is that they are Spanx. This little Talbots clutch is perfect for a holiday party. And most of it is currently on SALE!

I could go on and on with more holiday traditions but I would really love to hear from you. What are your favorite holiday traditions?

Frohe Weihnachten and Merry Christmas!  xoxo- Tanya
