Let’s start with a question – ski vs sun? Which do you prefer? In today’s post, you don’t have to pick because I’m sharing packing options for both beach and ski destinations. With President’s Day weekend coming up and spring break in March, I thought it was time to share some pieces perfect for whatever kind of vacation you might be planning. Will you be heading to the beach or the mountains…or both?? Be sure and read all the way through to see my Saint Bernard try-on session for more ski options!
Ski vs Sun Packing Options
SKI: Ready to hit the slopes? I linked some ski essentials that are stylish and functional, like this really cute après ski sweater. Pair it with these black ski pants and this après ski scarf. You’ll also definitely need chic outerwear, like this cropped down jacket. Keep your fingers and toes warm on the slopes with these Moon boots and these lined gloves. Other essentials include ski goggles and this fleece lined ear warmer. After you’ve hit the slopes, you will want these cashmere lined gloves and pom pom knit beanie for an après ski look.
SUN: If you’re heading to the beach instead, make sure you have a cute swimsuit cover-up and sandals on your packing list. I love this cute wrap one piece. It comes in a bunch of colors. I also love this classic and flattering one should one-piece swimsuit. Don’t forget the finishing touches…like a cute straw tote bag, sunglasses, a sun hat, and fun earrings like these lux palm pearl earrings. Just add sunscreen!
Ski Try-On Session
This ski bib pant is a great fit! I love the front zipper for easy in and out access. Wearing size 8.
How gorgeous is this white suspender pant? The black details add the awe factor. Wearing size 6.
Now flip it and reverse it! The pants above also come in black. These suspender pants give you such a flattering leg line! Wearing size 6.
The look above with an added jacket. I love the sheen and extra zippers on this coat. This is the look I ended up getting. Wearing size 6.
Everyone needs a classic base layer top. It’s so warm and comfortable. Also, if you prefer ski pants without the suspenders, then you’ll love these. Wearing size 6 pants.
I feel like Legally Blonde in this ski suit (in the best way)! This a great one and done piece, plus I love the hot pink! Wearing size 6.
I love a bold color for the slopes. This two tone jacket is so pretty! It comes in 3 color choices. Wearing size 6 jacket.
The same jacket that I’m wearing above, but in a navy/white combo!
The ever-classic ski sweater! It comes in many color choices.
This ski hat is adorable. Perfect for both skiing and après ski.
Don’t forget high-quality gloves for skiing!
Saint Bernard not only offers great ski clothes, but also amazing beach looks! They even have super chic everyday looks. Shop more HERE.

We live in a snowy state and I’v always wanted a pair of Sorel boots. If I can find them on sale, maybe this will be the season I finally have a pair!
For sure more of a beach girl! No plans for spring break yet.
Valid point!

Neither we stay in Scottsdale for the season. Golf apparel athleisure wear is the theme. We’re going to the Waste Mgt Open next week, it’s called the greatest show on grass. Also we have spring training Major League Baseball too.
I bet there are a lot of snowbird readers split between FL AZ and
Palm Springs
Love the sandals and flowy dresses. It’s still cool here only 70 high. Will warm up February
Definitely more of a mountain person. Heading to ski week in Utah this year !
Definitely a beach lover – incredibly cold natured (only fitting my last name is Shivers!).
Put some sand between my toes, add a dose of Vitamin D sunshine and the sound of waves crashing and I’m relaxed enough to leave all the stress and work behind for a few days. I’ve been on a new health and wellness journey so I’m ready for some sunshine and a NEW swimsuit (perhaps a bikini for the 1st time ever!).
Beach lover all the way!!!! But, headed to Vegas for Spring break!!!!!
I love both! If I had to chose today I would pick the beach-I need to feel the warmth of the sun and the breeze from the palms.
Going to Italy in April! But I do love the beach.
Definitely the beach!! Can’t wait to pick a tropical destination for our honeymoon!!!
Beach all the way!! Obsessed with the beach! No plans for spring break but going to Jamaica in February for my 40th! Then Mykonos over the summer!
I love the beach and the sun! Too much cold makes me cranky! Ha! We need to start planning spring break ASAP!
Definitely a sun person! Going to Grand Cayman for spring break and can’t wait!!! So ready for summer!
I love both! This Spring Break, I will be headed to the mountains to chaperone/help our district girls softball team and “hostess” breakfast! I am pretty girlie so they better be prepared to shop your Friday posts with me! Xoxo
I love all your picks – both ski and beach. Me – I’m definitely a beach person. I always call it “paradise”. Hard to come back home. Nothing planned because I’m waiting patiently for my renewed passport!
Love both!!! And love your picks! Gorgeous color on the bathing suit!
Love the beach & the mountains!
The clear strap cork sandals are darling!!!
I just went skiing and love all this stuff— especially the sorel boots I have a pair myself!!! As with the sun— I am going to Cabo for spring break and am purchasing some of the stuff listed as we speak! Thank you for your post!!!!
I would rather lay on the beach for a 3 day weekend. I do love to ski but that is WORK!
Kelley-
You’re not wrong. It is a lot of work!

I love all your ski wear but I’m still a beach person. I just don’t like cold.
Hello!
Can you help me out? 🙂
I’m leaving on an overnight flight from austin to London. What clothes do you recommend for an overnight flight? I always love your style.
Please advise if you can.
Thank you!
Laurel
I am really longing for a vacation to an exotic beach somewhere! Love this packing list.
Born and bred California girl….20 minutes from beach…one hour from dessert….one hour from mountains with snow….so what do I like? Cold weather, light snow (but I’m too lazy to ski)….so gray, overcast (drizzle a plus) weather with a fireplace is my “happy weather”. Go figure.
So, born and bred California girl…20 min from beach, 1 hour from dessert…1-1/2 hour from mountains with snow….so what’s my fave? Ummmm…gray, overcast “fireplace” weather…drizzle a plus…go figure!
