The State Fair of Texas is a huge tradition in my family. We try to go on opening day each year and we have been doing this since our kids were little. My theory is that the Fletcher’s corny dogs are a little fresher (as fresh as fried food can be) and that the crowds are a little thinner. It takes folks a day or two to realize the fair is open because it opens on a Friday. It runs for three weeks, September 26 – October 19th and there is plenty of time for you to get out there. The fair theme for 2014 is Deep In The Heart Of Texans. Be sure to check their website for ticket discounts, daily schedules, concerts and special events. As you can tell from my pictures, I like my corny dog with lots of mustard. And visiting the animals. What do you like to do at the fair? What is your must have fair food? Leave me a comment and share your State Fair of Texas experience.
Happy Friday! xoxo – Tanya
Yay! I went to the fair yesterday with a friend. Tried several of the fried food finalists (shrimp boil, breakfast for dinner, Texas Bluebonnet), and went to the Fair Hair booth and got my hair airbrushed with purple and pink!
So fun! A place where adults can indulge the kid inside!
Thank you for sharing your State Fair of Texas experience. How were all the fried foods? Sounds yummy Luci!
Thanks for reading the blog and leaving a comment.
