This dark teal color is one of the biggest 2019 Fall color trends! It’s the perfect mix of blue and green. I love this teal dress because it reminds me of Downton Abbey style. Actually, I recently saw the new Downtown Abbey movie and LOVED it! You can get tickets to see it here. I thought about wearing this to the premiere, but instead opted for something more casual. But this ruffle-trimmed dress with puff sleeves, a high neck, empire waist, back tie, fluttery hem and gorgeous deep tone make it the best dress to highlight the fall color trend of teal!
2019 Fall Color Trends
All Things Teal
For this fall/winter season, the runways and streets of New York City were decked out with the brightest colors! Everything from bright orange, pink, green and blue was taking over the fashion world. It may seem contrary to the typical dark fall colors, but I for one am loving it. Bright colors display such confidence and allow you to have fun with what you’re wearing – even if it’s just an accessory like this handbag perhaps. If you haven’t read it yet, I wrote this post last month on another one of my favorite color trends for fall.
Empire-Waist Silhouette
The dress I’m pictured in is such a stunning satiny party dress with an empire-waist cut. Have you tried wearing this kind of empire-waist silhouette before? Believe it or not, I was hesitant to try it! I thought it may be hard to pull off or perhaps unflattering. But boy was I wrong! My photographer and assistant both agreed that this was a total showstopper. Stylists even believe that this style works for just about everyone. If you have an apple or curvy figure, empire dresses will nicely accentuate your bust and minimize everything else – AKA tummy pooches or wider hips! And if you’re more petite, the style will define your figure in a longer length like this. Note that my dress doesn’t have any give, so I would size up.
By the way, my clutch is from my favorite Italian handbag designer – Officina del Poggio. I highlighted the bag before in this post. It’s not currently available, but you can purchase it in black here or find similar pieces from the designer here. And my shoes can be found at Nordstrom. I’ve worn them numerous times since purchasing them and style them with everything from dresses, jeans and wide leg pants.

You rocked it! Unfortunately, to much spanx required for me to wear that dress. 🙂
Listen, there are extra strength Spanx on underneath the dress.
Don’t be fooled…

That dress looks beautiful on you. Teal is a “universally flattering” color that looks beautiful on everyone.
That’s true Kelley. I hadn’t really thought about that but the color TEAL does work for everyone. Thanks for pointing that out.

I’m glad to see new colors this fall. This teal dress and all of your items look so polished. I do wear high-waisted dresses but not the flowy ones. This style is great. Thanks
I will have to try this dress on. I have the mom pooch after having so many kids. I’m not sure spanx will help! But it’s such a beautiful dress.
