Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? I hope so. I’m a curvy girl and I make no apologies about it. But it does present some style challenges occasionally. I’ve discovered a designer that embraces the voluptuous body with feminine style. She’s the perfect designer for curvy girls – Shoshanna.

First things first, this is in no way sponsored or gifted. I purchased this dress and any Shoshanna dress you have seen me in. I really love the brand. Why? Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss designs with curvy, voluptuous women in mind. She discovered early on that women with boobs have a hard time finding clothing to fit them. Especially swimsuits. When she launched her brand in 1998 with dresses she addressed the fit issue. She followed with swimwear, selling tops and bottoms separately and revolutionized swimwear shopping. I don’t know one woman who is the same size on top as she is on bottom. Do you?

So while I am an off the rack size 6, I often times have to upsize because of the bust line. I don’t like things to snug or pulling in front. I then will have the larger size altered in the waist to compensate. But with Shoshanna I don’t have to do that. I absolutely love this dress I have on and I am sad that its sold out. I found some similar ones that she has designed and linked them below. Her lace work is impeccable and her fit is divine. I will caution you that if you are between sizes, I suggest upsizing only because there isn’t a lot of give in her fabrics. The lace does not have lycra in it therefore there isn’t a lot of room to ‘squeeze in’. Every time I wear one of her designs, I feel good about myself and get so many compliments. Note to self: Wear them more often!
