True confession: I don’t like to work out. I never have. Horrible, I know. But I do like to get outside and move. So when Brooke Burnett of One Small Blonde and I were thinking about a blog post collaboration, we decided to focus on how to winterize your workout.
The past few days in Dallas have been really cold. The type of temperatures that make you want to stay inside by the fireplace all day long. But when you are a dog owner like Brooke and I are, you have no choice but to get outside. Honestly, I am grateful that I have Sparky and Max to motivate me to walk every day. Brooke has Jackson, her Maltese to get her out of the house. You probably remember Brooke from this blog post. We work well together and I love getting to shoot with her.
While we are on the topic of being healthy, I just started Whole30. As in, today is day 2. Has anyone tried it? Did you like it? Any recommendations or recipes are welcome. Just leave me a comment below. We can probably all help each other. I was so inspired by JJ Wynne Jackson’s story that I detailed in this blog post that I decided to hit the reset button. I don’t do this as a new years resolution because I think a healthy lifestyle is bigger than that. I’ll let you know how I do and maybe I will share some recipes on the blog. Speaking of being healthy… Max has gotten a little tubby. We walk every day and he is on diet dog food but he wants to eat all the time. It was Brooke that shared with me how she got Jackson to lose weight. You feed them green beans. I checked with my vet and sure enough, this is a weight loss recommendation for dogs. Fresh green beans are best. Stay tuned, I’ll let you know how it goes.
Brooke and I both selected the same workout top from Nordstrom without coordinating (it comes in several colors). My leggings are so soft that I might just live in them. If its cold outside, simply throw on a parka and beanie to keep you extra warm. We had so much fun walking the dogs on the Katy Trail and got caught up about blogging and other matters. I absolutely adore her!

Tanya! Try hot yoga at Sunstone! That will warm you up in no time, and you leave class with a great zen feeling. They have other types of classes there too. Love that place!

Plain, unsalted rice cakes were a treat my lab loved and helped her lose weight – used them as treats. Carrots too! Good luck with Whole30 – very interested in your experience!
