I don’t think I have seen this level of excitement about something in Dallas since J.R. was shot. Carlo’s Bakery is opening in Dallas this week and I’ve got the inside scoop!
I stopped by to chat with Buddy’s right-hand-man Mauro Caetano and brother-in-law Maurizio Belgiovine when they were in town to check on the construction of the new Carlo’s Bakery going in to Preston Center (8319 Preston Road in the old LaMadeleine space). You don’t know who Buddy is? Buddy Valastro is the master baker of Carlo’s Bakery and he and his family operated shop are featured on the TLC TV show Cake Boss. The original location is in Hoboken, New Jersey. On Saturday, March 19th Buddy will be here for the 8:30 AM ribbon cutting and opening of the Dallas location. And my insider information tells me that he will be here all day baking cakes. When I talked to Mauro and Maurizio, they shared some interesting insights with me.

Have fun Carlo’s. I am so jealous because I love that show and have always wanted to taste their goodies. Try the red velvet cupcake for me. Hope it is wonderful!
FINALLY, something that looks like my favorite hometown bakery .in South Plainfield, NJ. I will be there!
My daughter and I took the train to Carlo’s Bakery(NJ) on our last trip to NY. So much fun and great treats! We bought several pastries and a small cake just to celebrate visiting one of the places that we had always wanted to see…after spending hours and hours watching Cake Boss!! Everything we tried was decadent!! Can’t wait for it to open in Dallas!
OMG, real connolis…I am so there!
