My journey of juicing and cleansing is always an interesting one. If you follow me and my blog, you will remember the Master Cleanse I did earlier this year. I like that one because it is easy and tastes like a spiced ice tea. I always say if you can make it to Day 3 of a cleanse, you are home free. Why do I do it? I feel like it resets your body to a neutral place and allows you to undo anything bad you’ve been doing (holidays, candy, baked goods, overzealous alcohol consumption…). You get the point.
When the fine folks at Daily Greens contacted me and asked me to try their products, you know what my reaction was. SURE! They sent me a package of five juices and all of their materials in a cold pack. This is important because they are based in Austin, Texas. Their story is an interesting one and one that I have heard from other juice companies. Shauna Martin, Daily Greens’ founder, discovered her passion for green juice and its life-giving benefits following her battle with breast cancer as a young mom. Fully recovered and thriving years later, Shauna makes sure she does two things every day: Give thanks for another day with her family and friends. And of course, drink her Daily Greens™.
They gifted me a Flight of Greens (5 pack) which retails for $50.00. Their juices are available on-line, and at these local retailers – Whole Foods and Central Market. I can tell you that they are really good and taste fresh. Be sure to put them in the refrigerator immediately because there is nothing worse than luke-warm juice. Most importantly, Daily Greens are cold-pressed and packed with 6 pounds of fresh vegetables and fruits in each 16 fl ounce bottle. I don’t know about you, but that is about the only way I am going to consume that much kale, fennel, ginger, cucumber, apple, spinach, watercress, etc. I felt better and healthier after one day of consuming them. I did have my regular, dull headache set in about 2:00 PM but that happens to me every time I juice or cleanse. It’s called caffeine addiction. Happy juicing!
