If I told you that six Dallas bloggers went to a luxury spa in Texas and it was so beautiful and relaxing that we literally forgot where we were would you believe me? That’s exactly what happened when we visited Lake Austin Spa Resort.
On top of that, we were lucky enough to take the Vonlane luxury bus from Dallas to Austin to start our trip in the right frame of mind. With free WiFi, drinks and snacks we were on vacation them minute we stepped on the bus. We worked, giggled, told stories and got caught up on the bus because the none of us were driving and that automatically makes the trip stress free. I’ve taken Vonlane before and detailed my trip in this blog post. Our return trip was equally as relaxing since a professional driver and attendant were in charge or our journey.
Where to begin. We arrived at Lake Austin Spa Resort and enjoyed a late lunch at the Aster Cafe located in the Lake House Spa. I’ve been to this spectacular resort before (check out the details here) but the rest of the group were new to the facility. We had a quick tour of all the facilities and then check into our beautiful rooms. All rooms offer lakefront view and are newly redesigned with gorgeous decor and modern bathrooms. A quick decision was made and we were off to the water meditation class in the indoor pool. This was just the way we needed to start our 3-day retreat. Learning to settle in silence, be still and quiet our minds. The fact that you can walk around in the lush, white robes provided in your room was an added bonus. In fact, the only clothes we needed were our casual travel outfits, workout clothes, swimsuits and pajamas (see packing list below). You can actually dine in your plush white robe if you want to – and we did.
Ah, a girls trip. There’s nothing like it. It fosters friendship and bonding if you plan the right one. Clearly, I did. With me are Ashley Robertson – The Teacher Diva, Mary Summers – So Then They Say, Lynsey Eaton – Tomboy KC, Cathy Williamson – The Middle Page and Heather Anderson – So Heather. I enjoy their blogs and I hope you check them out by clicking on their names. We enjoyed spa treatments, walks, Pilates class, a boat ride, playing Cards Against Humanity while sipping rose wine in the Garden Library and all gourmet meals together. Let me just pause and say that the food is exceptional! Lake Austin Spa Resort has its own organic garden and the cuisine is locally sourced, if not on property. Their Chef beautifully prepares each meal serving smaller portions to fit the spa environment. Don’t worry, no one went hungry. You can order as much as you want.
A word about my spa treatments. I indulged in the 80-minute Perfect Pomegranate salt glow scrub and body massage followed by the 80-minute Platinum Lift Facial which includes microcurrent massage technology. I’m not sure what really happened as I fell asleep during both treatments but I can assure you that I returned to my room a new person. So did my travel mates. We marveled how serene spa surroundings and exceptional spa services and help you hit the reset button. Magnificent results I tell you! It was on this night that we all shared our best beauty secrets. Lynsey and I both love the AmorePacific foundation and now the rest of the group does too. I did a blog post about the products last week and you can see it here.
