I know the CoronaVirus has us all a bit wigged out and worried. In addition to listening to the CDC (wash your hands, limit travel, stay home…) and practicing #socialdistancing, shopping online has never been more appealing! Perfect time to focus on some home decor updates. The first day of spring is exactly one week away so I wanted to share a few spring home pieces and some tips on how to update your home.  After all, your wardrobe isn’t the only thing that needs to be updated. The boutique below has plenty of options for every home style. Click the photo above to shop those items or keep scrolling.

The easiest way to update your home for spring is with pops of color. You can do that with pillows, wall art, and just about anything else. But my personal favorite way to add color is with pillows. This green printed Serena & Lily pillow is a more muted way for you to add color. If you’re not a fan of colorful pillows, try some pillows with texture instead. Like this knotted pillow. The knots and wooden beads also give the feeling of nature, which ties into spring.

Simply changing items out can also make a big difference. Switch out the plates you use every day for some colorful or seasonal dishes. These floral dishes from Target are beautiful. Or add some pretty printed coasters. These Vietri rainbow stemless wine glasses are so pretty and the perfect colors for spring. You might remember this blog post that included some Vietri pieces. Clearly, I love this brand!

One option to easily update your home décor is with a rug. Changing out a rug in your living room can get pricey. Instead, consider changing out the runner in your kitchen or hallway.

Lastly, bring the outdoors in. Add a faux or real plant to make it feel more spring-like in your home. Or you can try bringing in some faux florals to brighten it up more.

If you’re looking for other ways to update your home for spring to give it a little facelift, consider these tips below. They are a little more costly and time-consuming but can really pack a punch.

  • Change up your outdoor entertainment seating and/or decor.
  • Upgrade the hardware on your cabinets
  • Upgrade other fixtures like lights
  • Increase curb appeal with landscaping
  • Update window treatments
  • Add new paint or wallpaper

SALE ALERT: Use code FRESHMIX at Serena & Lily for 20% OFF!

I always say that it’s best to keep your house completely updated because you never know when you might want/need to sale it. You would get it in the best shape possible to show, wouldn’t you? We’ve just gone through this process and it makes a huge difference.

Have a great weekend! Stay safe and stay home if you can!  xoxo – Tanya
