Ruffle side maxi skirt c/o (I love this one too) / White shirt / Denim jacket / Rose gold heels (they come in a beautiful nude suede too) / Sunglasses / Necklace / Lips : Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips in Rising Star/Pink / Chloe handbag (not shown)
Happy Monday! I hope you had a magnificent weekend. We really had no plans for once and thoroughly enjoyed our down time. I recently shot this look at the State Fair of Texas and I love how flirty this black maxi skirt is. It will be great to dress it up for the holiday season but for today, let’s look at the casual style.
You know how much I love the fair! And no, I wasn’t there because I always avoid it on Texas/OU game weekend. Dallas is so crowded with all our fun Oklahoma and Austin visitors that make a full weekend out of the Red River Shoot Out. In fact, I went to visit my friend Gray Malin on Friday at Saint Michael’s Women’s Exchange for his ESCAPE book signing and it took me 20 minutes to find a parking place. ARG! You might remember that Gray did my artwork in my new office and I did a blog post about it here. I loved getting caught up with him (pictured here). I digress…
This outfit. When I shoot at the fair I like to bring things that are counterintuitive to the environment. Clearly, I wouldn’t wear this combo to the fair if I planned on walking around for several hours while riding rides and eating fair food. Duh! I’m like everyone else – I wear jeans, a tee and comfy shoes. But I do love this outfit! The skirt is perfect to dress up later in the holiday season yet fun in this casual look too. This button down white shirt is a mainstay in my closet and adding the denim jacket over my shoulders breaks up the black and white. It was actually really cold on the day we shot this (the day of the cold front) so the jacket really helped.
Do you ever wonder if I eat the fair food I am shooting with? The answer is no. I always find a child and give it to them. I’ve learned to ask the parents permission first. On this day, a sweet veteran and his service dog were right by Big Tex with his adorable daughter. She was so excited to get the cotton candy! The reality is, I buy it and hold it for about 10 minutes never touching it. Do you notice that there is never a bite taken out of it? It’s simply a prop. Now you know one of my blogger secrets. Shhh…
What is your favorite fair food? xoxo -Tanya
