Patti Flowers Design custom red gown (details in the post) More red favorites below / Jimmy Choo shoes (and I really want these!) / Jimmy Choo clutch / Charlotte Max clutch (at the ball)

This dress. I can’t even begin to tell you how special I felt this year at the Crystal Charity Ball. When I work with the amazing Patti Flowers at her design studio, I let her create. Even though she asks for my input I love to see what someone else has in mind for me. And this beautiful red ball gown was a showstopper! It made me feel like Cinderella attending the ball with Prince Charming.

In a way, I am her muse and she is the masterful designer. I LOVE what she created for me! Personally, I don’t gravitate towards red and I never wear a drop waist but I really think this dress works on me. It’s so dramatic without being overdone. This is where Patti excels – her eye for detail as well as seeing the whole design is unparalleled. I must also mention that her assistant designer Bladi Duran is a gem to work with as well. Doesn’t his name sound like a rock star?

This lipstick red dress features a full ball gown skirt with dropped waist and fitted bodice. The back of the dress (the “wow” factor) has a French couture loop extended from a high neckline with a double sash sweep train. It is accented with a silver and crystal hand beaded applique. The entire dress is made of imported silk satin and flows beautifully. Please note that the bottom two pictures were taken at the Crystal Charity Ball and my hair is in an updo to feature the bow. When I shot this look on Monday morning, it was just regular ole’ me with freshly washed hair. I think it works either way.

If you want to see the Patti Flowers Design process be sure to check out this blog post and this one as well. I show you the start to finish design process. Each one is truly a custom creation starting with the sketch meeting. I’m so pleased with everything she has created for me that we have just hired her to create our daughters wedding gown. I’ll do a blog post on the bridal gown hunt soon and you will see why we went this route.

Have something special coming up? Give Patti a ring.  xoxo – Tanya

P.S. The dress is so spectacular that it made Culture Map’s Best Dressed list.
