It’s often said that great style runs in the family. I think that is true of me and my daughter Taylor. So when Talbots asked me to select some things and style myself and a family member, I opted for my assistant Tori. After all, she’s like my adopted daughter. Check out our classic style with Talbots.
Even though I would love to feature Taylor on the blog in one of these style shoots, she is super busy with her job. I shoot my blog posts with my photographer Audrie during the week and that doesn’t work when you’re an accountant. Sweet Tori was up for the challenge. She was my intern last summer and now works for me one day a week. And she’s sort of like my other daughter, so we will call that ‘family’.
I love working with Talbots and I’m always honored when they ask me to partner with them. Talk about classic pieces for your wardrobe! They provide many of the staples you see over and over again here on my blog. I just love the quality and selections. Everything Tori and I have on is from Talbots.
We both love the classic silk scarf that we are both wearing. I’ve got it around my neck and Tori is using it as an accent piece on her handbag. I love doing these style blog posts with a younger person and getting their fashion perspective. Tori has incredible style as indicated with her head to toe black ensemble which is perfect for fall. After all, great style is not reserved for any one particular age. Everyone can have classic style!
I chose to focus on these classic pieces: The Perfect Shirt (it’s non-iron) and the point pencil skirt. I love these lower heel animal print pumps! How about the red trench coat for when it gets chilly? I can’t wait for the temps to drop!
Special Invitation: If you are in the North Texas area, join us next Wednesday, September 12 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Talbots Preston Park Village store (1900 Preston Road, Plano). We’ll be hosting a fall trunk show with some models showing off the latest trends. Help us celebrate modern classic style with lite bites, personalized styling tips and of course, shopping! I would love to meet you in person and say ‘Hello’.
What style advice did you learn from a relative? xoxo – Tanya
