Oh say can you see… it’s Election Day in the USA! And I elect not to discuss politics on the blog or with you. But I do elect to attend the Stars & Stripes Luncheon and Film Festival this weekend. The third annual event celebrates our nations finest – military and first responders! Join me at all the events and support Sons of the Flag! They are my selection for this months HOT TICKET!
Sons of the Flag, an organization committed to supporting military, first responder, and civilian burn survivors, will hold their third annual Stars & Stripes Luncheon presented by Clay Cooley Auto Group, Luncheon Chairman Mary Humphreys Parker and Honorary Chairs Nancy and David Burgher will take place on Veteran’s Day, Friday, November 11, 2016 at Dallas Country Club to kick-off their unique military focused film festival.
United States Congressman Sam Johnson is this years’ luncheon keynote speaker. A decorated combat veteran and war hero, Sam was awarded two Silver Stars, two Legions of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, one Bronze Star with Valor, two Purple Hearts, four Air Medals, and three Outstanding Unit Awards.
Additionally, at the luncheon, Sons of the Flag will present the first Legacy Award to Dr. Stephen Burgher, a lead physician at the Baylor Scott & White Health Center, and a Marine Corps trauma team leader at a military medical unit in Afghanistan.

About Sons of the Flag
Sons of the Flag is vigilantly committed to supporting military, first-responder, and civilian Burn Survivors by providing funding for research, Medical Fellowships, and direct support for those impacted by a traumatic burn, as well as their families. It is their deepest desire, that no human being suffer the devastation of a traumatic burn. But until that vision becomes a reality, Sons of the Flag is committed to being a resource before a burn happens, once a burn happens, and long after initial treatment is complete.
