As we near the end of June it occurred to me that one of the biggest sales of the year happens in a few weeks. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is like the Super Bowl SALE and you don’t want to miss it. Have you ever wondered what all the hoopla is about? Today, I’m going to break it down and tell you WHY you want to have a game plan to tackle this sale. I will include important dates as well as key strategies to optimize your savings experience. Also, the pieces I’m wearing in this post are sold out from last year, but I linked a ton of options in the boutique down below!
I’ve been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for more years than I can remember. Certainly many more years than I have been blogging. I remember thinking “What a brilliant idea! Put the upcoming fall merchandise on SALE in July.” In a nutshell, that’s what it is. And if you have been with me during my entire blogger journey (5+ years), you know that I focus on this sale extensively throughout the month of July and into early August. That’s because the SALE has a life of its own. It has peeks and valleys so to speak. Things sell out quickly but some merchandise will restock. Think of me as your stylist and personal #NSale navigator.
One of the special privileges I have as an influencer/blogger is an early preview of WHAT will be on SALE. So put your faith in me that I will go to the store and take pictures & notes of everything you need and report back. I also have a few key strategies for tackling the sale. It’s sort of like going to Walt Disney World. You can’t just show up and hope for the best. You need a plan!
For only a few weeks, Nordstrom is offering consumers brand NEW ARRIVALS at eye-popping sale prices. When the 25-day sale window closes, all items return to original prices. You snooze, you lose!
Early Access – Friday, July 12–Thursday, July 18 (Nordstrom Card Holders only) | Public Access – Friday, July 19–Sunday, August 4
Note: To gain EARLY ACCESS you have to be a Nordstrom Card Holder. However, you DO NOT have to use your Nordstrom card to purchase anything. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog gives you a sneak peek of some items that will be featured during the big sale. I love to get my hard copy and earmark it. Then once I see the merchandise, I will call out special features about color, size, how it fits, etc. You can view the online catalog here, but it won’t be shoppable until the sale begins.
NEEDS & SHOPPING STRATEGY:
I highly encourage you to make your wish lists now. That way when the sale opens, you have a priority list. I also make an effort to snag investment pieces that I’ve had my eye on. Need the designer sunglasses? Get them on SALE! My list always looks something like this:
New denim trends, luggage, fall booties and tall boots, clothes for Pete and the kids, home decor items, beauty items (restock make-up, load up on beauty blenders and haircare products), Gucci sunglasses, Burberry jacket, pajamas… You get the picture. Then, I look through the catalog to see what will be on sale from my list. It’s like solving a puzzle.
