Let’s get one thing straight. Christian Louboutin crafts a sexy shoe. They are expensive but man are they sexy. You might wonder how the wear these bad boys and protect the coveted red sole. Or perhaps you have a favorite pair but red sole has worn completely off and needs to be restored. I have all the answers and solutions for you today. NOTE: To REPAIR the red bottom of your shoes first, see this blog post.
First things first. Yes, I know I am having a bad hair day. It’s 100% humid outside in Dallas these days. Someone please tell mother nature that we are not in Houston. I can’t let a little weather keep me from shooting important content. So here we are, bad hair and all.
I always say invest in shoes, handbags and outerwear. Those items are staples in your wardrobe that you can wear for many years if you take care of them. Christian Louboutin shoes fall in that category. I have a hard time wearing Mr. Louboutin’s shoes because he cuts narrow in the shoe box (the part of the shoe around your toes). But my friend Lisa C. explained to me that he makes so many different versions that surely I can find one that works. She’s right. For me, the ‘Decolette‘ or ‘Decoltish‘ styles work best if I am purchasing a pump. His open toe shoes and wedges work well too. Did you know that the ‘So Kate‘ is named after supermodel Kate Moss? It’s always 120mm in height and what makes it so sexy is the pitch of the shoe. The ‘Pigalle‘ comes in several different heights and I think this black patent leather one is a great investment. If you don’t like high heels, he even makes flats and lower heels.
Now, how to protect your gorgeous red soles once you’ve made your purchase decision. I use Sticky Bottoms. You can see that I have applied them to my new shoes in the top photo of this blog post. They keep your red soles from being scratched and worn down. What? You’re already worn off the red soles of your beautiful shoes? Then you can order this red paint and restore them. Just paint a thin coat on the bottom and let fully dry. It’s an exact match for the Christian Louboutin red. Once you have restored them be sure to protect them with the Sticky Bottoms. By the way, the film is removable should you decide you want to take them off.
Did you know that Christian Louboutin makes beauty products and handbags too? Get yourself some sexy red bottom shoes! You won’t regret it.

If I EVER got a pair of Louboutin shoes, I’d have to go the low, block heel route (like Cadrilla). I can’t walk in sky-high skinny heels.
Those low heel ones are just as beautiful Luci! They make flats too.

I am so glad I found this post! I know I am very late to ask this question. I want to try the sticky bottoms, but wonder if they make the bottom of Louboutin’s a little less slippery.
Hi Tanisha,
Not sure if they make them less slippery or not. I don’t seem to have an issue with any of mine.
