Linen wrap dress for the summer season!

Wrap dresses are simply timeless! They define the waist and can even hide the tummy. I love this new wrap dress because it’s so flattering but not too revealing. So I wanted to share with you today how versatile wrap dresses are. Especially during the Summer, these are an easy and feminine go-to!

Now I know that many of you may have concerns about wrap dresses due to fear of a wardrobe malfunction. Trust me, I have felt the same! To fix this problem, simply just wear a white cami underneath a wrap dress and you will worry no more. Or another idea? Wear it like a kimono/cardigan open over a fitted tank or tee and skinny jeans. This style trick really works best with a maxi dress. You can even try a faux wrap dress like this or this to avoid any kind of malfunction!

The wrap dress was popularized by the amazing Diane Von Furstenberg back in the 70s and has remained a classic ever since. Not only are wrap dresses a closet staple, but they are ultra-slimming, waist-defining, and lengthening to the figure. It also doesn’t have boundaries when it comes to age. For younger ladies, you can go for a mini dress. I even wore one when I wrote this blog post about getting out of my comfort zone. Remember that? If you are more conservative, try a maxi or midi dress with more coverage up top. You can even wear a long sleeve dress if you dislike your arms like many of us do!

Here’s a few ways you can wear a variety of wrap dresses…

CasualYou can wear an easy wrap dress like this with fashion sneakers and a denim jacketPair it with a woven bag like my favorite one here and you will look stylish but still feel comfortable. One brand I turn to for staple wrap dresses is Reformationwhich I’ve covered in previous blog posts here and here, where I used my little white cami trick underneath the dress. These dresses make for a great Saturday brunch outfit!

WorkThere are actually some wonderful selections of wrap dresses out there that are very classic and sophisticated for the office like this. This M.M. La Fleur one from my previous blog post would be also so perfect! It’s a mock wrap dress so there is absolutely no wardrobe malfunction possibility.

VacationWrap dresses can make for the cutest coverup or easy everyday sundress to run around in this season. Pair something like this with some adorable sunnies like these cute heart sunglassesstrappy sandalsand a crossbody purse.

Night OutAnother thing I love about wrap dresses is that you can wear them from day to night! The dress I’m wearing in this post is ideal to wear to a luncheon with flats and then later to dinner with a pair of heels. It’s so versatile! There’s also some sexier date night type wrap dresses like this.

Formal: There’s tons of wrap style dresses that are gorgeous to wear for a wedding, party or more formal occasions this Summer. Try this dress, then finish your look with statement earrings, heels, and an evening bag.

Do you have a favorite wrap dress? If not, I recommend trying one from this post!   xoxo – Tanya
