Happy TUESDAY! Happy September! How was your holiday weekend? Ours was great because it consisted of a lot of lounging, binge watching TV and getting over our jet lag from Ireland. All in all, I’d say that is a a perfect weekend! Today I am back with another “behind the scenes look” at a video shoot that I did for JCPenney. This time it involved focusing solely on The Salon by InStyle inside JCPenney. Check out the video by clicking HERE.
Just like in this blog post where I showed you what its like behind the scenes for a video shoot, this blog post is similar. Except there was one major difference. Because this video was actually shot inside a JCPenney store and you don’t want to lose business by shutting down a store during the day, this shoot was done overnight. Yep, you heard me correctly – overnight! I believe my call time was 11:00 PM and I wrapped around 5:00 AM the next morning. The production team does send a driver for you so that you are not driving yourself to set during those hours. Once I arrived, I went straight to the hair and make-up trailer to get ready to shoot. I would say that the majority of my work was done between 1:30 AM – 4:30 AM. Can you believe it? That’s me just trying to act like I am visiting a hair salon during the day. The end result is the video below. Let me know what you think.
It was fun to be selected as one of the three influencers who will be featured in the September issue of InStyle Magazine. Be sure to look for the special advertising section featuring The Salon by InStyle inside JCPenney. Just like in this video, there was a professional film crew with a Director, Producer, hair, make-up and all crew positions to shoot this campaign. We shot this back on June 10 and I wrapped at 5:00 AM. Believe it or not, I had a regularly scheduled photo session with Audrie Dollins on Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM and I kept it. After all, I already had amazing hair and make-up… what’s a few more hours of work? I was a walking zombie during that shoot!
Remember, this is a shoot where I just show up as the talent and they style me as well as do my hair and make-up. I love shoots like this because I am basically their play-doh and get molded into what they want to style and show off. It’s fun not to have to make any of the decisions. Let me know what you think about the video. BONUS: Click here and leave a comment on this Instagram post. One of you will WIN a beauty box full of brand new products. Good Luck!
