Happy Wednesday! I’m popping on quickly to show you the refresh we did on the Master Bedroom. And by that I mean, the bedding and a few accessories. Nothing major. Let’s talk sheets and more…

While we would love to invest in high-end bedding, the reality is that we have pets. They don’t sleep with us but they do rule the roost and therefore enjoy lounging with us as we watch TV in the evenings. That’s why I decided to go with Sferra bedding (Grand Hotel Collection white/blue duvet cover, box spring cover, coverlet and shams) while sleeping in Boll & Branch sheets. I’ve also ordered the matching Grand Hotel Collection white/blue Sferra sheets and pillowcases to make the bedding complete. I like having two or three sets of sheets on rotation. A good nights sleep is key to wellness and I like soft but firm sheets. Both brands are very well made and won’t break the bank!

Pete and I recently got a new LG CX class OLED 77″ flat screen TV and LG sound bar. Why? We figured out that we do most of our TV watching in our master bedroom in the evening. We moved things around to make this happen. Formerly, we had a french armoire in that place that housed a smaller TV. Thankfully, our decorator Amy Berry came over and helped space plan this entire operation. If you want to see it play out, watch this IG Story highlight. We hired and electrician to move some plugs and run electricity where needed. We also created a separate A/V closet and hired Green Electronic Solutions to reroute everything that was housed (and hidden) in the armoire. When I tell you it looked like spaghetti warehouse I’m not exaggerating! These guys rerouted everything and that’s how the TV sits cleanly above the antique piece of furniture we already had. In case you are wondering what happened to the french armoire, it’s now in the hallway serving as the linen closet.

My amazing friend Mia Davis Designs, monogrammed the king shams for us. She has also done beautiful napkins for me. In case you are wondering what is ‘new’, it’s really the way make the bed. Before, I had about seven custom made pillows of various sizes and fabrics that we would put on and take off the bed daily. It looked dated and just needed a refresh. Using only the Sferra bedding (Grand Hotel Collection in white/blue) and one custom made pillow roll is much cleaner. We sleep with the duvet in the winter but during the warmer months it stays folded at the bottom and we simply use the coverlet.

The new piece of furniture that we added is the Thatcher bench from Parker & Hyde. They do beautiful custom pieces made to order. As you can tell, Ruby Lou thinks we ordered this bench for her. When she is laying down, she looks like she is on a cloud. 🙂

Everything else was already in our home. Amy helped us move a few pieces around. As she says, if you invest in quality pieces and good antiques, they will serve you well. Boy howdy did they ever! They have been sourced, collected and purchased over 30 years. The framed Spring Horizon Gracie panels were done when we installed the Gracie wallpaper in our dining room. Click HERE to see that post. I bought my panels online HERE and Amy Berry had them framed in Dallas. That way they are hung like a pictures and can be moved if needed.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take ‘before’ pictures. It’s not a huge transformation but just a light refresh. After all, we have lived in our home for 30 years. The candle I’m burning is NEST Grapefruit. It makes your whole house small clean and fresh. The greenery in the vase is lavender from my herb garden. It smells divine! The sitting room is just off our master bedroom and provides and nice area for a transition to lots of natural lighting. This room was my old office until I moved it. Click HERE for the post. Prior to that, it was a large balcony. Hard to imagine!

And NO, I don’t usually sit around in my bedroom in a maxi dress. We were shooting several campaigns that day I grabbed my coffee cup and said lets keep going. Who has time to change? The dress is in this blog post.

Now, what’s new in your bedroom?  xoxo – Tanya
