OK, this is long overdue. I’m doing my recap of New York Fashion Week on the blog today. This was a quick, whirlwind trip with two fun friends.

I’ve already blogged about the amazing Trump SoHo Hotel stay in this blog post and shown you a street style blog shoot here, so today we will focus on our itinerary, restaurants, shopping and the trends we noticed. This trip was with Lisa C. and Bela P. and we approached it as a fun girls trip. The last time I attended in September, I approached it as a blogger/business trip.

We went the second half of fashion week as we only had four days to spend in New York City. We started with the Prabal Gurung runway show and he did not disappoint. Some of my favorite looks came from this show. Next up was the beautiful Carolina Herrera runway show. If you know her designs, you know that the ageless Mrs. Herrera never disappoints. Her feminine style shines through in everything she designs. And there is no one who can rock a starched white shirt like her. Lela Rose (a Dallas native) chose to show her collection at a small restaurant at a seated luncheon. Again, this is another designer that loves women and delicate details. Her embroidered dresses are stunning. Our last show was Zac Posen. His show this year was a presentation which consisted of his campaign being displayed in large photographs and hung much like an art gallery. The fun thing about this was that a lot of his Project Runway buddies and celebrities showed up to support him. Nina Garcia was there for a long time talking about the collection with him.

Probably the funnest thing we did was we got tickets to be in the audience of the Wendy Williams Show. You can apply for audience tickets online by clicking here.  Lisa C. and I often chuckle that if we are home at 10 AM, the TV is on the Wendy Williams show. She’s funny and calls a spade a spade (if you know what I mean)! We dressed up, wore bright colors and hoped for the best. Guess what? They put us in the front row, picked Bela P. to participate in a fun game (she won $500!) and picked Lisa C. to be that day’s “eye candy”. This is the person that Wendy personally picks to stand up and detail the outfit they have on. We had so much fun! The show is live daily at 10 AM and our phones were busting with text messages once we finished. Apparently, we were on TV a lot!

We had reservations at a lot of great hot spots so I am linking them for you as well. Aqua Grill in SoHo (near the Trump SoHo Hotel), Ralph Lauren Polo Bar, lunch at Bergdorf Goodman with my friend Ashley H., Catch Restaurant and hit Laduree for macaroons if you have time. Last time I was in NYC, Ashley H. and I met there for afternoon tea. So divine! We power shopped our way through Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Saks Fifth Avenue, Chanel and Zara.

Here are the top 5 trends I noticed for the Fall/Winter 2017 fashion shows that you can expect. I’ll remind you of these in the fall.

1. Oversized everything

2. Velvet

3. Fringe and feathers

4. Gilded and embellished

5. Jewel tones

The entire trip was so fun. One of the highlights was meeting Bella Hadid immediately after she walked in the Carolina Herrera show. What a super model!  xoxo – Tanya

P.S. Below are some photos of the shows I mention in this post. I have pulled them from Getty Images. Imagine my shock when I found one of us attending a show.
